Franklin Bowman
BROWN SUMMIT — Franklin Bowman, 80, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014. The family will have a memorial service at a later date. Cremation services entrusted to Triad Cremation Society & Chapel.

Kenneth Carlisle Sr.
THOMASVILLE — Kenneth Wayne Carlisle Sr., 46, a resident of Thomasville, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014. A resident of this area all of his life, Kenneth was born on April 30, 1967, in Guilford County to James Sr. and Nancy Stanley Carlisle. He had worked for A&D Environmental and was a member of Full Gospel Freewill Holiness Church. Kenneth loved working on cars and helping others.
Surviving are his parents, James Sr. and Nancy Carlisle. of Thomasville, his son, Kenneth Wayne Carlisle Jr. and his wife Christina of Whiteville, N.C., his grandchildren, Alexis Carlisle, Nicholas Carlisle, and Kenneth Wayne “Trey” Carlisle III and his brother, James Carlisle Jr. and his wife Michelle of Thomasville. Also surviving are his niece Misty Carlisle Sexton and her husband Joshua of Thomasville, his nephews, Nathan Carlisle and Trent Carlisle and his wife Ashley, aunts and uncles, Helen and George Stanton of Rockingham, Sarah and Boot Benton of Laurel Hill, Linda Williams of Thomasville, Brenda and Furman Merrill of Thomasville, Anna Saunders of Thomasville and Donald and Susie Carlisle of Hamlet.
A celebration of Kenneth’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, in the chapel of Thomasville Funeral Home, 18 Randolph St., with Rev. William Hutchins Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Judy Davis
HIGH POINT — Mrs. Judy Shumate Davis, 74, went to be with her Lord March 23, 2014, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Judy was born in North Wilkesboro on October 18, 1939, a daughter of the late Walter F. and Nellie Shumate. Judy was a loving wife and mother, who was devoted to her grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by nine siblings.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, John T. Davis Jr. of the home, three daughters, Teresa Davis of Kernersville, Lisa Vincent and husband Ray of Newmarket, N.H., and Susan Brady and husband Harold of Raleigh, nine grandchildren, Sydney and Megan Davis, Melissa, Colton, Laura, Jared and Destiny Vincent, and Ben and Lilah Brady, two sisters, Nancy Marlow and husband Tim of N. Wilkesboro and Margie Royal of Archdale, two brothers, Steve Shumate and wife Sandra of Jonesville and Lester Shumate of Johnstown, O.H.
A Celebration of Judy’s Life will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. JAMESTOWN — Robert A. Guertin, 77, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, March 31, 2014, at Saint Pius X Catholic Church, Greensboro, N.C. Cremation services entrusted to Triad Cremation Society & Chapel.

Donald “Don” Harris
THOMASVILLE — Mr. Donald “Don” Liston Harris, 85, died Monday, March 24, 2014, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on June 6, 1928, in Davidson County, to Nelson Allen Harris and Verlie Belle Nifong Harris. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Smith Transfer after 38 years of service as a truck driver. He was a lifelong member of Emanuel Reformed Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Curtis Wayne Harris, and two brothers, Boyce and Harold Harris. On August 23, 1957, he married Pauline “Polly” Reddick, who survives of the home; also surviving are two sons, Terry Harris of Lewisville and Doug Harris of Midway, sister, Irma Harris Woods of Thomasville, and two grandchildren, Haley Harris and Megan Phillips.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Emanuel Reformed Church with Pastor Rickey Payne officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites provided by the N.C. National Guard, Honor Guard. Mr. Harris will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at other times at the home. Woody Williams
TRINITY — Robert E. “Woody” Wiliams, 67, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014, at Graybrier Nursing & Rehab following three years of declining health. Robert was born in High Point, January 14, 1947, a son of the late Fletcher Wilson and Minor Salome Williams. He was a Navy veteran of Vietnam and retired from Custom Processing. Robert was a loving husband and father who enjoyed gardening. He was an avid Redskins fan and of the Baptist faith. Robert was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Tina Williams of the home, a daughter, Amanda Williams of Thomasville, a son, Robert “Robbie” Williams II, stationed at El Paso, T.X., a granddaughter, Chloe Ballard, and a sister, Joyce Freeman of Archdale.
A Celebration of Robert’s Life will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel by Pastor David Williams. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park.
