GREENSBORO — Margaret Jane Boxman, 92, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014. Cremation services entrusted to Triad Cremation Society & Chapel.
HIGH POINT — Deborah Therese Samuel-Carter, affectionately known as “Rea,” was born January 29, 1959, in Columbia, S.C. She quietly left this earthly life on Wednesday, April 23, 2014. She was the beloved daughter of the late Lonnie and Ann Samuel Sr.
Deborah attended the public schools in Richland County, S.C., graduating from W.J. Keenan High School in Columbia. She earned a B.A. in Psychology from North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Alvin B. Carter Sr. on October 16, 1982. This union was blessed with the births of two children.
Deborah Samuel-Carter faithfully served at New Bethel Baptist Church and most recently was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Silver and Gold and Hospitality Ministries. Deborah loved people, especially working with the youth. She was always busy and loved arts and crafts. She was a former Girl Scouts Leader.
Those who will cherish fond and precious memories of Deborah are her husband, Alvin Carter Sr., of Winston-Salem; one loving son and daughter, Alvin Carter Jr. and Bria Carter, both of High Point; one granddaughter, Janeya Rene Carter; one loving sister, Carrie (Cubby) Brown, of Annapolis, Md.; brother, Lonnie Samuel Jr., of Columbia, S.C.; stepbrother, Oscar (Doris) Dupree, of Jersey City, N.J.; niece, Zakiya Brown. of Annapolis, Md.; one special cousin, Pam Basnight; two special friends, Vonda Pabon and Jeanette Cochran; an uncle; a host of aunts, cousins, other loving relatives and dear friends, all of whom join the family in sharing the grief caused by her departure, but rejoice that she is now resting with the Lord.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Memorial United Methodist Church, 1327 Cedrow Drive. Family visitation will be at the church 1:30 to 2 p.m. Burial will follow at a later date in Columbia, S.C. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a fund for Deborah’s children. THOMASVILLE — Johnny Tillman Deweese Jr., 54, of Thomasville, died April 29, 2014. A resident of this area all of his life, Johnny was born on September 24, 1959, in Davidson County to the late Johnny Tillman Deweese Sr. and Bonnie Hicks Deweese. He especially enjoyed fishing, movies, reading, hunting and cooking out with his family.
Surviving is his sister, Cindy Martin, and her fiancé, Christian Shuler, of Thomasville; his brother, Steaphon Deweese, and his wife, Melissa, of Thomasville; nephew, Jeffrey Deweese; niece, Savannah Shuler; goddaughters, Tiffany McDaniels and Angela Foley.

GREENSBORO — Wanda Jean Everhart “Granny”, 75, of Greensboro, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at her home. She was a beloved mother and grandmother, heaven couldn’t have received a more beautiful angel. She was born September 17, 1938, in Forsyth County, to Charles and Elizabeth Thompson Agee.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Everhart Sr., and a son, Donald Jerry Everhart. Surviving is one daughter, Sharon Everhart; sons, Jim Everhart Jr, (Joan), Mark Everhart (Mindy), Terry Everhart (Robbie); eight grandchildren, Heather Everhart, Whitney Kinley, Anna Wood, Blake Adams, Chance Everhart, Selina Everhart, Amanda Black and Nicole Everhart: one great-grandchild, Skyler Black; and one sister, Bunny.

Yvonne “Bonnie” Geneieve Hill
ARCHDALE — Mrs. Yvonne “Bonnie” Hill, age 80, of Archdale passed away April 29 in High Point Regional Hospital. Mrs.Hill was born December 9, 1933, in Coalwood, W. Va., to Wiliam Carl and Dorothy Bethal Mabe Stovall. She was a 1974 graduate of Guilford Technical Institute with a degree in Nursing. She was employed with High Point Regional Health Systems until her retirement. Mrs. Hill was a member of Thomasville Church of Christ .
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary A. Hill Sr., her parents, her Foster Parents Roy L. and Gertie Lawson; three brothers, Rev. Willliam Carl Stovall Jr, Clyde Stovall, Gerald Stovall, and a foster brother, Masion Ray Lawson. Also preceding her in death were her sister, Roberta Stovall Riggs, a grandson, Joshua Allen Hill a great-granddaughter, Hannah Grace Kennedy and a great-grandson, Malachi Glenn Hill.
Surviving are two daughters, Yvonne Diane Freeman and husband, Eddie, of Archdale, and Sharon Kay Welch and husband, Jack, of Trinity; three sons, Gary Allen Hill Jr. and wife, Teresa, of High Point, James Richard Hill and wife, Jennifer, of High Point, and Terry Ray Hill of Trinity. There are two brothers-in-law; Donald Hill and Curtis Hill, of Thomasville. Mrs. Hill is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Bridgette Stovall of Roanoke, Marcella Stovall of Kewanee, Ill., and Marlene Stovall of Phoeniz, Ariz.; a foster brother, R. F. Lawson and wife, Zollie, of Woodlawn, Va.; and a foster sister-in-law, Katherine Lawson, of Galax, Va. Mrs. Hill has seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in Sechrest Funeral Chapel in Archdale by Minister Allen Martin and Pastor Steve Hill. Entombment will follow the service in the mausoleum of Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. LEXINGTON — Mr. Earl Clement Sink, age 63, of Helmstetler Road, Lexington, died Wednesday at Wake Forest Baptist Health - Lexington Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2014, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2014, at the funeral home and other times at the home.
DENTON — Ms. Alisha Gail Thompson, age 28, a resident of South N.C. Highway 109, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014, in Thomasville Medical Center. She was born Oct. 1, 1985, in Duval Co., Fla., a daughter of Winfred Gene (Bo) Thompson and Belinda Gail Dennis Thompson Blackwell. Ms. Thompson was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith.
She was preceded in death by her father, Winfred Gene (Bo) Thompson. Surviving are her mother, Belinda Gail Dennis Blackwell and husband, David, of the home; her fiancé, Carlos (Chamaco) Cardenas of Liberty; two daughters, Camille Pesqueira and Amelia Cardenas both of the home; four sisters, Belinda Jean Saunders Terreros and husband Alan of Mexico, Brandi Faye Saunders, of Thomasville, Miranda Hunt and husband, Josh, of Climax, and Jamie Beth Ward, of Denton; three brothers, Lewis Ward of the home, Jeffery Thompson, of Asheboro, and Lance Saunders of High Point.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 5, 2014, at 2 p.m. in J. C. Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Mike Freeman officiating. The entombment will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum.
