Mark Eugene Collins
ARCHDALE — Mark Eugene Collins, 36, went home to be with the Lord Monday, June 10, 2013.
Mark was born Dec. 25, 1976, in Guilford County.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Ellis Collins.
Mark is survived by his beloved wife Tabitha; sons, Dakota and Garrett Collins; daughters, Jessica Atkins and Madison Collins; a granddaughter, Tinsleigh Atkins; mother, Brenda Collins; brothers, Tommy and Michael Collins; sister, Joy Collins; 10 nieces and nephews; three great-nephews; mother-in-law and father-in-law; four brothers-in-law and spouses; many uncles, aunts and kin.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 13 at 7 p.m. at Bella’s Facility 100 W. Main St. Thomasville, N.C., with Dr. Marion Poythress officiating.

Harold Lee Dunning
AUSTIN, Texas — Harold Lee Dunning, age 68, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013, following a brief illness.  
Born Oct. 31, 1944, to James Wiley Dunning and Bonnie Auman Frazier Dunning. He grew up in High Point. He attended Mount Pisgah Academy and graduated from Southern Missionary College in Collegedale, Tenn., with a degree in business accounting. He worked in construction design, specializing in sheet metal and worked for Environmental Air Systems for many years. Harold had a passion for bird watching and loved sharing this hobby with many friends. He travelled across country in search of new species to observe. He was a very involved sports fan, from NASCAR to golfing, baseball and football. He was a true loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers, supporting them as a team favorite since 1954.       
He loved his family and valued relationships formed from extended families and friends. 
He is preceded in death by both parents, and sisters, Evelyn Dunning, Martha Sue Dunning, Mary Minor and Carolyn Dunning Ratliff.
Surviving and honoring his memory are his children, Lynne Dunning Blevins (Richie) of Austin, Texas, and Gerald Dunning (Misty) of Columbia, S.C.; grandchildren, Andrea van der Hoeven (Will) and Jordan Blevins, Bradley Yeargin and Noelle Broughton;  brothers, JW Dunning, Robert Dunning (Jean) and Roy Dunning Sr. (Celia); sisters, Juanita Connor and Becky Burke (Winfred Callahan); as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended families. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten by countless friends and neighbors. 
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at the High Point Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 279 Eastchester Drive, High Point, NC 27263. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service time at the church. Burial will immediately follow at Yadkin Memorial Gardens, Yadkinville, N.C.

Harold Harlston (“HK”) Kinney
ATLANTA, Ga. — Harold Harlston (“HK”) Kinney went home to be with the Lord on June 12, 2013. He resided in the Doraville area since 1972 after moving from Augusta, Ga. Harold was born and raised in High Point, N.C., attended Lees-McRae College and UNC-Chapel Hill before entering the Army in 1955. While stationed at Ft. Gordon, he met and married his wife of 57 years, Margie. His career with First Financial Management Corp. (which later became First Data Corporation) encompassed providing data services to banks around the Southeast until his retirement in 1994. HK never met a stranger and left friends everywhere he went! He was a longtime member of Brookhaven Christian Church, where he faithfully served, at various times, as organist, pianist, choir member, church leader in various roles, Christmas tree lot “beloved fixture” and friend to all.  Everyone loved “Mr. Harold!” 
Harold was incredibly devoted to his family. His three sons and their wives, seven grandchildren, and one  great-grandson were the pride of his life and he never missed an opportunity to tell others about their accomplishments. He is survived by his wife Margie McAlhany Kinney; sons Mike Kinney (Caroline) of Roswell, Ga., Charles Kinney (Debbie) of Norcross, Ga., and David Kinney (Anne) of Moore, S.C.; grandchildren Tara, Amanda, Steven, Elizabeth, Kevin, Laura, and Travis; great-grandson Aiden; sister Beth Umberger (Wes) of Ellijay, Ga., and niece Kelly Luquer of Charlotte, N.C. His legacy to those in his family is priceless!
Visitation will be held at H. M Patterson Funeral Home, 4550 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta, Ga., on  Thursday, June 13, 2013, from 6-8:30 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Brookhaven Christian Church, 4500 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta, Ga., on Friday, June 14, 2013, at 4 p.m.,  with a brief visitation time to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Brookhaven Christian Church.

HIGH POINT — Shelvy Spivey, 72, of Woodrow Avenue, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013.   A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Triad Cremation Society & Chapel, 2110 Veasley St. Greensboro, NC 27407. 

Daniel Allen “Dan” Torrence
THOMASVILLE — Daniel Allen “Dan” Torrence, 52, of North Drive, passed away Friday, June 7, 2013, at Thomasville Medical Center. He was born July 12, 1960, in Wakefield Massachusetts to Vernon Allen Torrence and the late Carole Melanson Torrence. Mr. Torrence was a printer and employed by Adplex Rhodes.
He is survived by a daughter, Martina “Danielle” Torrence of Kernersville; Danielle’s mother, Susan Gunter of Kernersville; father, Vernon A. Torrence of Watkinsville, Ga.; brother, Mike Torrence of Lawrenceville, Ga.; sister, Marie Torrence Mitchell of Watkinsville, Ga.; step-daughters, Alicia Nicole Heath of Thomasville, and Bridgett Rene Wright and husband Tyler of High Point; four grandchildren of Thomasville and High Point; and two nephews, three nieces of Georgia.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 15, 2013, 4 p.m. at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel, 10301 N. N.C. 109, Winston-Salem, NC 27107 with the Pastor Tim Gammons officiating. Patty Jane Fesmire Vernon
HIGH POINT — Patty Jane Fesmire Vernon, 77, of High Point, N.C., went to live with Jesus on Wednesday, June 12, 2013. She walked with the LORD all her life and today she gets to do it in person. 
Patty was born Oct. 1, 1935, in Ramseur, N.C., to Elmer and Dorothy Fesmire. She was employed most recently as the secretary of her beloved church, Greenwood Hills Wesleyan.  She was retired from the High Point Fire Department as the fire chief’s secretary.
She is survived by a son Mark Vernon; daughter Vanessa Vernon Slack; grandsons Justin Slack (Lauren Coltrain Slack), Thomas Vernon and Joshua Vernon; granddaughter Laura Slack; great-grandsons Colton and Turner Slack; brother Gail Fesmire (Linda); nephew Shannon Fesmire (Dawn), great-nephew Jake Fesmire; great-niece Madelyn Fesmire; and all “HER” firemen. She was preceded in death by daughter Connie Jane Vernon.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 15, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Greenwood Hills Wesleyan Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, and other times at the daughter’s home.

J. Huston Williams
HIGH POINT — Mr. J. Huston Williams, 73, known as “Yogi” to family and close friends, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, June 6, 2013. 
He was born in Lilesville, N.C., to Rosetta Williams and Kenzell Spencer. J. Huston attended Anson County public schools and later relocated to High Point, where he was employed as a truck driver for Piedmont Chemical Industries until his retirement. He joined Friendship Missionary Baptist and later joined Bessie Chapel. J. Huston was united in marriage to his former wife, Annette Charles, and from that union were four children. He enjoyed deep-sea fishing and watching sports with dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charlie Williams and Kenzell Spencer II; his son-in-law, William James Green Jr.
He leaves behind to cherish his precious memories to three sons, Jasper Williams of Thomasville, N.C., Anthony Houston of High Point, N.C. and Jay Huston Jr. of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Sharon Green of High Point, and Cynthia Williams of Atlanta, Ga.; five brothers, Kenneth (Brenda) Williams of Greensboro, N.C.; Ike ((Joyce) Spencer of Baltimore, Md., Alexander (Thelma) Spencer of New Rochelle, N.Y.; Lester Jr. (Kim) Rorie of High Point and Herman (Jennifer) Rorie of High Point; one sister, Laurie Ann (Bravid) Harris of Atlanta, Ga.; sister-in-law, Cindy Williams of Kernersville, N.C.; god-sister, Marian Talley; a very dear friend, Carolyn Taylor; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one uncle and three aunts; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Cornerstone HealthCare, High Point Regional and Westwood Health & Rehab Center.
Home going celebration will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 715 W. Willis Ave. Family visitation will begin at 1:30-2 p.m. at the church.
