Betty R. Bowling
ARCHDALE — Betty Roney Bowling, 82, of Archdale, went to be with her Lord on Friday, June 7, 2013, at Greybrier Nursing Home surrounded by her two daughters.
Betty was born May 4, 1931, to John and Annie Thompson Roney.  On April 20, 1956, she married the love of her life, Jerry Bowling. Betty served as the secretary for Archdale Trinity Middle School for several years.  She attended Archdale United Methodist Church and was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class and the Pride and Patience Club.  Betty was an avid reader, and one of her favorite things was going out to eat every week with the “Betty B” Club.  Her family will forever remember her as a loving and caring mother and grandmother.  In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband. 
Betty is survived by daughters, Beth Harrison and husband Todd of Trinity, Beverly Martin of Greensboro; sister, Nancy Shebester of Swepsonville; grandchildren, Matthew Harrison, Megan Bouldin and husband Jordan, Blair Farlow, Mallory Trivette and husband Zac; and great-grandaughter, Berkley Ann Trivette; special niece and nephew, Ann and Freddy Shebester.
A celebration of Betty’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, with the Rev. Stuart Noell and the Rev. Harold Shives officiating.  Interment will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Greybrier Nursing Home C unit and East Wing staff for their love and care of Betty over the past two years.

GREENSBORO — Antonio D’Egidio, 79, of Greensboro died June 7, 2013.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel is in charge of arrangements.


Harold Lee Dunning
AUSTIN, Texas — Harold Lee Dunning, age 68, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013, following a brief illness.   
Born Oct. 31, 1944, to James Wiley Dunning and Bonnie Auman Frazier Dunning, he grew up in High Point. He attended Mount Pisgah Academy and graduated from Southern Missionary College in Collegedale, Tenn., with a degree in business accounting. He worked in construction design, specializing in sheet metal and worked for Environmental Air Systems for many years. Harold had a passion for bird watching and loved sharing this hobby with many friends. He travelled across country in search of new species to observe. He was a very involved sports fan, from NASCAR to golfing, baseball and football. He was a true loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers supporting them as a team favorite since 1954.        
He loved his family and valued relationships formed from extended families and friends.  
He is preceded in death by both parents, and sisters, Evelyn Dunning, Martha Sue Dunning and Mary Minor.
Surviving and honoring his memory are his children, Lynne Dunning Blevins (Richie) of Austin, Texas, and Gerald Dunning (Misty) of Columbia, S.C.; grandchildren, Andrea van der Hoeven (Will) and Jordan Blevins, Bradley Yeargin and Noelle Broughton; brothers, JW Dunning, Robert Dunning (Jean) and Roy Dunning Sr. (Celia); sisters, Juanita Connor and Becky Burke (Winfred Callahan) as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended families.  He will be dearly missed and never forgotten by countless friends and neighbors.  
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at the High Point Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 279 Eastchester Drive, High Point, North Carolina 27263.   The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service time at the church. Burial will immediately follow at Yadkin Memorial Gardens, Yadkinville, N.C.

Margaret Fuller Everington
THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Margaret Fuller Everington, 85, of Thomasville, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2013, at her residence.  She was born on Nov. 28, 1927, in Davidson County, the daughter of Penn Wood Fuller and Pearl Kennedy Fuller.  She was a member of First Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Allen Everington, on Sept. 2, 2006.
She is survived by two daughters, Susan York and husband Jim of Rock Hill, S.C., and Penny Readling and husband Scott of Waynesville, N.C.; her grandchildren, Michael York and wife Beth of Spartanburg, S.C., Jenny Readling and Allen Readling, both of Waynesville, N.C.; and three great grandchildren, Averi York, Darcy York, and Molly York.
There will be a brief gathering of friends on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Fair Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bryce Heath Greer
SOPHIA — Bryce Heath Greer, 17, of Sophia, died June 8, 2013, at Brenner Children’s Hospital.
Born March 16, 1996, to Sandy McClelland and Brian Greer,  Bryce was a very strong willed young man who touched so many people’s lives with his infectious smile, witty sense of humor, as well as his courageous battle with cancer.  Bryce loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending time with them especially the younger kids who seem to gravitate to him.
In addition to his mother, Bryce is survived by his “Pops” Michael Osborne of Sophia;  brother, Codie McClelland and niece Grace McClelland both of Randleman; grandparents Anita Coltrane of Holden Beach, Curtis and Cathy Osborne of High Point, Roger and June McClure of Thomasville and several precious aunts, uncles and cousins.
Bryce was preceded in death by father Brian Greer and grandfather Marshall Coltrane.
He will be truly missed and remembered by all who knew him.
A celebration of Bryce’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale.  Interment will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale.

Sawako Takahashi Hall
TRINITY —Mrs. Sawako Takahashi Hall, 82, a resident of Colonial Circle and formerly of Davy and Bluefield, W.Va., died Sunday, June 9, 2013, at her home.  She was born on Oct. 7, 1930, in Fukui Ken, Japan, to Usaburo Takahashi and Tsuyayo Natori Takahashi.  She was the owner and operator of White Front Grocery in Davy, W.Va.
On July 9, 1957, in Tokyo, Japan, she married William Clarence (Bill) Hall, who survives of the home. Also surviving is her son, Kim Hall of the home and his fiancée Susan Jones; daughter, Ami Hall Meadows and husband Wayne of Bluefield, W.Va.; and two grandsons, Corey Meadows and William Michael Hall.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at 3 p.m. at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Bynum Orr officiating.  The family will receive friends on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 2 to 3 p.m. On-line condolences may be sent to www.jcgreenandsons.com.

James Southards
TRINITY — James Harold Southards, 77, passed away Sunday morning, June 9, 2013, in the Hospice Home at High Point.
James was born in Bryson City, N.C. on Aug. 24, 1935, the son of Burgin Southards and Annie Bell Day Southards.  In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brothers, Don Southards, Bobby Southards, Charles Southards, Hoyt Southards, and Jerry Southards; and his sister, Josephine Southards Warner.
James moved from Bryson City to High Point in 1953 where he worked in the furniture industry. He fell in love with Helen, his wife, and they were married in 1959. In 1972, he started his own upholstery company, Southards Upholstery, which he owned and operated for 33 years until his retirement. He loved fishing and boating and working in the yard. After his retirement, he discovered he loved to cook, which became his favorite pastime. He was dedicated to his family and loved spending time with them, especially with his grandson, Holden.
James is survived by his wife of 54 years, Helen Groce Southards of the home; four children, Teresa Southards of Thomasville, Sandy Southards of Archdale, Todd Southards and wife, Kelly, of High Point, and Brian Southards and wife, Amy, of High Point; one grandson, Holden Southards; numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 13, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with the Rev. Riley Puckett officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice Home for their loving support and care, and for all who have been there in our time of need.

John R. Wagoner
HIGH POINT — John R. Wagoner, 96, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013, at Westchester Harbour.
John was born in Cabarrus County, Nov. 11, 1916, a son of Rufus Alexander and Martha Frances Earnhart Wagoner. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 82nd Airborne in England and France. John received the Purple Heart for his injuries received after the Normandy invasion. He retired after 35 years from Globe Furniture/Burlington Industries in High Point. He was married to Eddith Loflin Wagoner for over 50 years, until her death in 2002.  He was also preceded in death by nine siblings. John was a member of High Point Friends Meeting. He enjoyed gardening, reupholstering and being with his family. 
Surviving are his children, Janice Snider and husband J. R. of Kernersville, Nancy Sprouse and husband Rusty of Gloucester Point, Va., Gary Wagoner and wife Elaine of Sophia, and David Wagoner and wife Ronda of High Point; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren,.
A celebration of John’s life will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the High Point Friends Meeting House by Pastor Kelly Kellum.
