Betty R. Bowling
ARCHDALE — Betty Roney Bowling, 82, of Archdale, went to be with her Lord on Friday, June 7, at Greybrier Nursing Home surrounded by her two daughters.
Betty was born May 4, 1931 to John and Annie Thompson Roney.  On April 20, 1956, she married the love of her life, Jerry Bowling. Betty served as the secretary for Archdale Trinity Middle School for several years.  She attended Archdale United Methodist Church and was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class and the Pride and Patience Club.  Betty was an avid reader, and one of her favorite things was going out to eat every week with the “Betty B” Club.  Her family will forever remember her as a loving and caring mother and grandmother.  In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband. 
Betty is survived by daughters, Beth Harrison and husband Todd of Trinity, Beverly Martin of Greensboro; sister, Nancy Shebester of Swepsonville; grandchildren, Matthew Harrison, Megan Bouldin and husband Jordan, Blair Farlow, Mallory Trivette and husband Zac; and great-grandaughter, Berkley Ann Trivette; special niece and nephew, Ann and Freddy Shebester.
A celebration of Betty’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale with Reverend Stuart Noell and Reverend Harold Shives officiating.  Interment will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Greybrier Nursing Home C unit and East Wing staff for their love and care of Betty over the past two years.

Ethel Craver
LEXINGTON — Ethel Elizabeth Brewer Craver, 90, of Lexington died June 8, 2013. 
A funeral service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel.

Edna Gerringer
ARCHDALE — Edna Marie Wilson Gerringer passed away Saturday June 8, 2013 at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Charlie Gerringer and was born August 21, 1925 in Guilford County to the late James Edward and Della Wilson.  She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family.  She attended Garrell St. Baptist church.
Survivors include her daughter Nancy (Earl) Durham of Archdale, a son Marvin (Linda)  Gerringer of Randleman a brother Sam Wilson of Archdale, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, four children, her parents and several siblings.
The funeral will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Gibsonville City Cemetery.

Calvin Dawes Griffin
THOMASVILLE — Calvin Dawes Griffin, 88, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Pine Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Thomasville.
Calvin was born Nov. 4, 1924, in Guilford County to the late Joseph Frank Griffin and Lizzie Lue Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Reese Griffin; sisters, Pauline Griffin, Beulah Griffin and Violet Rumbley; brothers, Joe Griffin, Grady Griffin, Claude Griffin and Jackie Griffin; and parents.
Calvin is survived by daughters, Joyce Hill and husband David of Archdale and Charlotte McCutcheson of Midway; grandchildren, Dawn Pearson and Taysha Jones McGee both of Thomasville; sisters, Bonnie Griffin Prince and husband Buddy of Thomasville and Joanne McMillan and husband Bill of Kernersville; 7 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday June 10, 2013, from 6–8 p.m. at Thomasville Funeral Home. A 11 a.m. funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 11, in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Rodney Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville.

DENTON — David Franklin “Bush” Lanier, 71, of Pine Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center in Thomasville and formerly of Farmer Road, Denton, died June 8, 2013.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel.

HIGH POINT — Thomas Elmer Lee, 85, 3505 Alamosa Drive, died June 4, 2013, at the Hospice Home in High Point.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

HIGH POINT — Kenneth Ray McCall, 43, of 1102 N. College Drive, died June 2, 2013, at High Point
Regional Hospital.
