Martha Ross Starling
HIGH POINT — Martha Ross Starling, 89, of High Point, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Hospice Home of High Point.
Martha was born November 28, 1923 in Statesville, NC to David and Ila Kestler. Married for 42 years to John “Herb” Ross, she was affectionately known as “the Pastor’s wife” at Bethany Congressional Holiness Church in High Point. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, John “Herb” Ross, George O’Ham, Stewart Starling; brothers, William Kestler, Roy Kestler, Otis Kestler; and granddaughter Lori Perdue Reiss.
Martha is survived by son, Herbert Franklin Ross and wife Dixie of High Point; daughters, Sandra Patton and husband Greg of High Point, Jean Perdue and husband Steve of Midwest City, OK; brothers, David Franklin Kestler and wife Mary of Lexington, James Kestler and wife Doris of High Point; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.
A celebration of Martha’s life will be held on Sunday, June 9th at 3 p.m. at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, officiated by family ministers. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. A private interment will take place at Floral Garden Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Home of High Point, 1803 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262.

HIGH POINT — Ronald Wayne “Ronnie” Ward, 73, a resident of High Point, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013.
He was born September 14, 1939, in High Point to the late William Roby Ward and Grace Edith Yarborough Ward, and had been a resident of this area all of his life. He was a Commander II, with the City of High Point Fire Department, and retired after 33 years of service. Ronnie was a veteran, serving with the US Navy. He was a member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church where he was the former Chairman of the Deacons, and Properties committee. Ronnie enjoyed reading, working in his yard and woodworking. He was dedicated to his Lord and his family. He also loved serving and attending his church. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death, was his wife of 39 years; Glenda Carpenter Ward, his brother; Wendell R. Ward, and his sister; June Bivens.
He is survived by his son; Heath Ward and his wife Jennifer of Trinity, his daughters; Ashlie Maxwell and her husband Dean of Midway, and Anissa Hutchins and her husband Scott of Thomasville, his sister; Evelyn Hutchens of Winston-Salem. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Dylan Hutchins, Bradley Hutchins, Lauren Maxwell, Cameron Maxwell, Benjamin Maxwell, Dalton Ward, Tanner Ward, and Hallie Ward.
A service to celebrate Ronnie’s life will be held Sunday, June 9, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Life on Lexington (formerly Lexington Avenue Baptist Church) with Pastor Micah Ray officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery, with honors accorded by the High Point Fire Department Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale. HIGH POINT — Irma Siceloff Price, 90 of High Point died Monday at Westchester Manor. Born May 13, 1923, in Yadkin County she is a daughter of the late Richard Alexander Siceloff and Nell Fleming Siceloff. Mrs. Price is a graduate of Women’s College, now UNC, Greensboro. She was married to William “Bill” Edwyn Price, Sr. who preceded her in death January 16, 1987. Mrs. Price’s life in the last twenty years has centered around her church and friends. She was a very active member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church where she started the prayer shawl ministry and made many chicken pies. She served as honorary co-chair of the campaign to build Leslie’s House. Her favorite pastime was knitting with her dear friend Jesse Millis and taking trips at Christmas to Gold Hill. She enjoyed Sunday lunch at Mayberry and the “Saturday Morning Breakfast Club” which met each Saturday at the Golden B.
Mrs. Price is survived by three children, William Edwyn “Ed” Price, Jr. and wife Terri Warren Price of High Point, Robert Allen Price and wife Leigh Minges Price of Arapahoe and James Whitten Price and wife Carolyn R. Price of Richmond, VA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Holly Price Creech, Katherine Leigh Price, William Edwyn Price, III, Robert Allen Price, Jr., Kathryn Leigh Price, William Dixon Price, Kimberly Davis Terry, Andrew Whitten Price and great grandchildren Connor Warren Creech, Hunter Brian Creech, Hannah Elizabeth Creech, Logan Leigh Price, Ethan Robert Price, Robert Hudson Terry, Matthew Garrison Terry and Tate McGowan Price. Also surviving is a sister Nell Long of Tallahassee, FL and Irma’s dear friend Bettye Packer.
A memorial service to Celebrate the Life of Irma Price will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Wesley Memorial United Methodists Church with the Reverend Dr. Alexander Ward, the Reverend Amos Quick, III and Bishop Thomas Stockton officiating. The family will greet friends in the Asbury Room following the service.
