Howard Brinkley
LEXINGTON  —Arthur Howard “Hoagie” Brinkley, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, from injuries due to an automobile accident.
Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Welcome. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home.

Zona Brower
ASHEBORO — Zona Bisher Garner Brower, 90, of  Asheboro died Thursday, March 21, 2013.
Funeral will be held 4 p.m. Saturday at Hoover’s Grove Wesleyan Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 3-4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Junior Carter
TRINITY — Green Nathaniel Carter Jr., 78, a resident of Trinity, passed away at his home on Thursday, March 21, 2013.
He was born July 19, 1934, in Davidson County, N.C., to the late Green Nathaniel Carter and Ollie Davis Carter. He retired from Drexel Heritage after 42 years of service, and was of the Baptist faith. He had coached little league baseball and football in the Trinity-Archdale area for many years. Junior enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting with his friends and spending time at his lake house. He also enjoyed attending basketball games at High Point Central and going to car races. He was an avid Tarheel basketball fan, and he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were his brothers; Glenn Carter, James Carter, and William Carter, his sisters; Ruth Cranford, Iona Ball, and Sylvia Pressley.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Pattie Clark “Dean” Carter, and his daughter; Janet Myers, his sons; Kenny Carter and his wife Sandy, Scottie Carter and his wife Diane, his sisters; Hazel Sechrist, Betty Loftin, Frances Mclendon, Meacy Shore and Shirley Pope, his brother; Sam Carter. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Tracy Dixon, Chelsea Fincannon, Easton Carter, step grandchild; Tera Thomas, and his great grandchildren; Brylan and Korbyn  Fincannon, and a number of nieces and nephews and his loving dog Cooper.
A service to celebrate Junior’s life will be held Monday, March 25, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, with Pastor Michael Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013, at the funeral home.  Memorials in Junior’s memory may be sent to: Community In Home Care and Hospice of Asheboro, 533 S. Robert “Bobby” Disher
THOMASVILLE — Mr. Robert “Bobby” Lee Disher, 72, a resident of Lambeth Drive, died Friday, March 22, 2013, at Henry Etta & Bruce Hinkle Hospice House.  He was born on May 12, 1940, in Washington, D.C., to David Lindsay Disher Jr. and Zenna Brown Ledwell Disher.  He was a member of First United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the choir and the United Methodist Men.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Danny and David Disher.
On Aug. 6, 1960, he married Sylvia Lackey, who survives of the home. Also surviving are his daughter, Angela Bruce of Thomasville; grandson, Ricky Bruce, Jr.; brothers, Jim Disher and wife Nancy of Thomasville and Larry Disher and wife Lisa of Silver Valley; sisters-in-law, Pat Price of Thomasville and Elaine Disher of Thomasville; brother-in-law, Johnnie Lackey and wife Sandra of Lexington; and many well loved nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 25, 2013, at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Cris Uren officiating.  Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.  Mr. Disher will remain at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the visitation. The family will receive friends on Monday one hour prior to the service from 1 p.m. until the service hour at the church and at other times at the home.  Memorials may be directed to First UMC, P.O. FLORENCE, S.C. — Jackie David Morris, 65, of Florence, S.C., died Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at his home.

Peggy Arlene Rowe
THOMASVILLE — Peggy Arlene Rowe, 77, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013, at her residence in Thomasville, N.C.
Peggy was born Nov. 7, 1935, in Grayson County, Va., to the late Albert and Fairy Boyd.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay D. Rowe; son, Billy Crouse; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Boyd, Ruby Marie Boyd; brothers, Billy Boyd and George Boyd.
Peggy is survived by sons, Donnie Rowe and wife Kim, Kelly Rowe and fiancée Brenda, Jason Rowe and wife Jessica; sisters, Pat Younts and husband Gary, Edna Whitt; seven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday March 24, 2013, at Thomasville Funeral Home. A 2 p.m. funeral service will be held Monday March 25  with Pastor Bynum Orr officiating; interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park.
