GREENSBORO — Mrs. Priscilla Diane Alford Turner, 62, of 401 Woodlake Dr., Greensboro died on Monday, March 11, 2013 at Wesley Long Hospital.
Priscilla was born on July 7, 1950, in Randolph County to Oscar W. Alford and Christine Kearns Alford. She was a 1968 graduate of Trinity High School, a 1972 graduate of A&T State University, and received her Masters’ in Education in 1977. Diane, as she was known, was a retiree from the Randolph County School System where she was a teacher. A faithful member of First Baptist Church of Trinity, she served as Financial Secretary, Gospel choir and Praise Team member.
Diane was preceded in death by her mother.
Surviving relatives include her husband, J. Stan Turner; father, Oscar Alford of the home; goddaughter, Chanel Brown of Raleigh; one sister, Beverly Lucas of Greensboro; two brothers, Dwayne (Rhonda) Alford, and Roderick Alford all of Greensboro; nieces, Candace Lucas and Jessica Alford; nephews, Jamal Lucas and Roderick Alford, II; special aunt, Barbara Whitt, special cousin, Danielle Williams of Greensboro; nephew Alex McKeithen of Washington, DC, other cousins, relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Sunday, March 17, 2013, at First Baptist Church of Trinity, 12054 Trinity Rd. Burial will follow at Trinity Community Cemetery. Family visitation will be at the church on Sunday, 1:30 to 2 p.m. and other times at the residence. Johnson and Sons, High Point is assisting the family. LEXINGTON — Donald Rayvon Tysinger, 81, Lexington died Thursday, March 14, 2013 in WFBH-Lexington Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday in Davidson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.
LEXINGTON — Shirley Ann Connie, 65, of Linwood Southmont Road, died Thursday March 14, at her home. A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Christian Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.

JAMESTOWN — Mary Catherine Skinkle died on Friday, March 15, 2013, at Wesley Long Hospital. Service arrangements are incomplete at this time. Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel is assisting the Skinkle family.
TRINITY — Mrs. Judith (Judy) Russell White, 71, resident of Trinity passed away March 14th, 2013, at Hospice Home at High Point.
Mrs. White was born June 21, 1941, in Mecklenburg County, a daughter to the late James D. and Naomi Leonard Russell. A resident of this area all her life, she was of the Methodist faith and had worked many years with WGHP-TV. She also worked with Emerywood and Willow Creek Country Club in the Tennis Shop It was one of Judy’s great gifts, to make friends wherever she worked or went. Judy’s energy, smile and laughter were so freely shared with us and will be greatly missed. On December 14, 1963, she married W. Thurman “T.” White who survives of the residence.
Also surviving are many dear family members and friends, including, her daughter, Kellee D. White of High Point; brother, Ronnie Russell and wife Betty of Jamestown; nephew, Jeffrey D. Russell and wife Lennie, nephew, David H. Russell and wife Tabitha and their daughter, Gracie; niece, Keata R. Russell; and two step-daughters, Liz W. Evans and Susan W. Forshey and their children.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Rev. Dr. Herman White and Rev. Michael Mabe officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. WINSTON-SALEM — Mr. Randy Lee Dunlap, 51, of 2924 Teresa Avenue, Winston -Salem, NC passed March 9, 2013, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born June 22, 1961, to Paul
Dunlap, Sr. and Willie Mae Strickland Dunlap. He was employed by Clareton Industries. He graduated from Ragsdale High School. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, sister Rebecca Stinson and brother Paul Dunlap, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted son Jereme Crowder, four sisters Evelyn Ford of High Point, Margaret (Robert) Bennett of High Point, Bernita Nwuauzee of High Point, Vanessa Lewis of High Point, NC, sister-in-law Barbara Dunlap of High Point, devoted brother William Dunlap of Winston Salem, brother-in-law Alford Stinson of High Point, NC, devoted

KERNERSVILLE — Mrs. Blanche Orania Hedgecock Sechrest, 92, of the Abbotts Creek Community went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, March 14, 2013.
She was born July 28, 1920, in Davidson County a daughter of the late Arthur Madison Hedgecock and Phoebe Weavil Hedgecock. Blanche was a member of Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She was married January 15, 1950, to George Sechrest. He died, November 15, 2005.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; brothers, Charlie Hedgecock (Amie), Willie Paul Hedgecock (Jewell), Early Hedgecock (Frances). Sisters, Mary Hedgecock, Emma Lee Parnell (Carl), Bessie Motsinger (Johah) and Mildred Craven.
Niece, Mary Dawn Parnell and Nephew, Linzo Hedgecock.
Surviving, one brother-in-law, Clay Craven; nephews, Lanny, John, Art and Hubert Hedgecock, Wesley Parnell, J.R. and Terry Motsinger. Nieces, Peggy Green, Geraldine Fowler, Judy Wall, Chandra Hinkle, Jane Helms, Susan Myers, and Shelba Talley.
Blanche enjoyed her family and friends. She was always ready to receive visitors and phone calls.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sechrest will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Hollar and Dr. Glenn Myers, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Sechrest will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home (Wallburg Chapel) 10301 N NC. Hwy. 109 Winston Salem until placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 16, 2013, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

THOMASVILLE — Mr. Virgil Lee Hill, 85, of Thomasville, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013, at Hinkle Hospice Home. He was born on September 8, 1927, in Davidson County, the son of Doc Washington Hill and Fannie Mae Buie Hill. He was owner of The Pub in Jamestown. He served in the U. S. Army in World War II and was of the Baptist faith. He was a member and former commander of American Legion Post 206, and formerly a district commander. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Pauline Williams, Dorothy Hill, Mary Frances Rogers and Faye Curry; and two brothers, Wayne Hill and Bobby Hill. He married Alfreida Elliott Hill, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are four daughters, Peggy Floyd and husband Jerry of Thomasville, Sharon Bolson and husband David of Asheboro, Vicki Greenwood and husband Josh of Thomasville, and Karen Rogers of Thomasville; two sons, Roger Hill and wife Barbara of Florida, and Spanky Lee Hill of Trinity; one sister, Barbara Jean Lambeth of Thomasville; one brother, Ronnie Hill and wife Brenda of Lexington; five grandchildren, Lisa Floyd, Dale Hill, Scotty Carlyle, Cassie Bolson, and Michael Greenwood; and six great-grandchildren, Morgan Marlow, Lincoln Hill, Jordan Carlyle, Kamden Carlyle, Heydin Carlyle, and Landyn Carlyle.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 18, 2013, at 2 p.m. in J. C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Wayne Eller officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home of his mother-in-law, Virginia Loflin, 704 Old Thomasville Road, High Point. HIGH POINT — Teresa Diane Griffin, a resident of High Point, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013.
She was born September 12, 1956, in Guilford County, to the Nona Tysinger Wood and Donald Wood. She was employed for 20 years with Trinity Frame and she attended Charity Baptist Church. Teresa enjoyed gardening, crafting, fishing, and she loved the outdoors. She was preceded in death by her father; Donald Wood, her brother; Sidney Wood and her grandparents; Oscar and Nettie Tysinger.
Surviving are her mother; Nona Wood of the home, her sister; Donna Cook and her husband Scott of Denton, her niece; Tiffany Snowdy, her nephew; Bryan McCoin. Also surviving are 3 great nephews; Joseph Oakley, Tyler Law, and Dakota Snowdy.
A service to celebrate Teresa’s life will be held Monday, March 18, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Guilford Memorial Park with Pastor Fred Rife officiating.
