Ed Bizzell Jr.
LEXINGTON — Henry Edward Bizzell Jr., 87, of Rowe Road, Lexington, passed away Friday Jan. 3, 2014, at his home.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home Monday Jan. 6, 2014, from 5 until 8 p.m. and at other times at the home.
Mr. Bizzell was born Jan. 13, 1926, in Guilford County to Henry Edward Bizzell and Florence Yokley Bizzell. He was a graduate of High Point College and received his Masters from The University of North Carolina. He was a retired Principal, having served with The Randolph and Guilford County Schools and High Point City and Asheboro City Schools. Ed honorably served his country in The US Army serving in WWII where he was wounded in the winter of 1945 as a Army Infantryman. His parents and son, Henry Edward Bizzell III and a grandson Will Bizzell all preceded him in death.
Surviving are his Loving wife of 61 years, Susan Sink Bizzell of the home. A son, Brad Bizzell (Melody) of Blacksburg Virginia. His daughters, Tawn Bizzell, and Renee Bizzell both of Lexington. A grandson, Erick Bizzell and granddaughters, Erin Edwards, Kellie Michael and Susan Burke. Also surviving are his great grandchildren, Ethan Edwards, Emma Edwards, Katie Michael and Amy Michael.

HIGH POINT — Jennifer Brewer, 29, died Jan. 4, 2014, at High Point Regional Hospital.

ASHEBORO — Lela Mae Moody Carter, 93, of Asheboro, died Jan. 4, 2014.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel.
Freddie Butler Jones
TRINITY — Freddie Butler Jones, 84, resident of Trinity, died Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at her residence.
She was born on Oct. 24, 1929, in Griffin, Georgia, a daughter of the late A. B. and Gladys Freeman Butler and had been a resident of Trinity and vicinity most of her life. Mrs. Jones was a homemaker. She was married to William R. Jones, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are three daughters, Sandra Clark and husband, Charles of the residence; Donna Powell of Archdale and Melinda White and husband, Wendell of Trinity; one son, William Frank Jones of Trinity; seven grandchildren, Lori Vestal, Robbie Wilson, David Wilson, Brian Powell, Jason Powell, Dusty Powell and Matthew Jones; and eleven Great-Grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, officiated by Reverend Brian Powell. Interment will follow in the Floral Garden Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Virginia “Ginny” McHugh
THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Virginia G. (Ginny) McHugh, 93, of Overbrook Dr., went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday Jan. 2, 2014, at Hospice Home at High Point.
She was born April 16, 1920 in Cincinnati, Ohio a daughter of the late Fred C. Grau and Helen Wiley Grau. Virginia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving are her husband of 68 years, John J. McHugh, Jr. of the home; one daughter, Kathleen E. (Kathy) McHugh of High Point and one son John F. McHugh and wife Shelia of Raleigh, one grandson, James F. McHugh and wife Laura of Rolesville, NC and three great-grandchildren, Jack, Declan and Aiden McHugh.
Funeral services for Mrs. McHugh will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Greg Hinnant officiating. Mrs. McHugh is entombed in Floral Garden Memorial Park Mausoleum. Guest and friends will be received at the home of the daughter Kathleen McHugh 406 Rotary Dr. High Point.

LINWOOD — Barbara Sue Duncan Spry, 74, of Linwood died Jan. 3, 2014, at Rowan Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Greer’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Davidson Funeral Home Lexington is serving the family.
