HIGH POINT — Juanita Archie of High Point, born March 9, 1949, passed away Dec. 5, 2013. Juanita was a charismatic, affectionate and loving person. She was preceded in death by her father, James Archie; sister, Arlena Johnson; and daughter, Kristy Mack.
To cherish her in memory are her mother, Leila Archie; sister, Evelyn Fox; daughter, Tiffany Archie; son Anthony Mack; grandchildren, Jeremy McNeair, Britney McNeair, Breeanna Mack, Jerequin McNeair, Felicia Archie, Lakeithia McElveen, Brian McElveen Jr., Absady Mckasil, Qua’Nyrie Sanders, and Breelyn Blue; and a host of cousins and loved ones.
Memorial service will be held Dec. 12, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the High Point Plaza Hotel and Conference Center in the Victorian room, 135 S. Main St.
LEXINGTON — Ronald Dean Bullins, 43, of Shirley Road, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at Wake Forest Baptist Health – Lexington Medical Center.
Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Community Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Wilbur “Butch” Everhart Jr.
THOMASVILLE — Mr. Wilbur “Butch” Everhart Jr., 64, a resident of South Old Greensboro Road, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at Thomasville Medical Center. He was born on March 17, 1949, in Davidson County, N.C., to Wilbur Everhart Sr. and Muriel H. Everhart. He worked for Lexington Furniture and Dixie Furniture. He was an active volunteer from 1974-2011 with North Lexington Triangle Fire Department and was certified 1 and 2. He was a lifelong member of Pilgrim Evangelical Lutheran Church.
In addition to his father, he was preceded by his brother, Tony Wayne Everhart.
Surviving are his mother, Muriel Everhart of Thomasville; sisters, Rebecca “Becky” Michael of Lexington, Clara “Tenny” Todd and Sandra Blackburn, both of Thomasville; four nieces, Michelle Porter, Dayelle Marsh, Christy Todd and Sherri Palmer; two nephews, Devon Blackburn and Chris Kindley; one great-niece; and six great-nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at 4 p.m. at Pilgrim Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Craig D. Saltzer officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church from 3-4 p.m. Mr. Everhart will remain at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the visitation.

Linda Mae Robinson Gilchrist
HIGH POINT — Linda Mae Robinson Gilchrist, daughter of mother Willie Mae Robinson and the (late) deacon George S. Robinson Sr., was born on Oct. 12, 1949, in Richmond County. She was called by God to her heavenly home on Dec. 6, 2013, in High Point, N.C. She was preceded in death by one infant sister, Dorothy Ann Robinson, and by her father, George S. Robinson Sr.
Left to cherish her memories include her loving husband of 32 years, Steven Gilchrist of the home; her mother, Willie Mae Robinson of Ellerbe; her daughter, Dorothy (Louis Sr.) Powell; her sons, Willie Mears and William Mears Sr.; five grandchildren, Veronica Powell, Shanice (Joshua) Simms, Louis Powell Jr., Ariel Baxley and William Mears Jr.; one great-grandchild, Alyna Powell; her six sisters, Joyce Ann Wall, Georgia Lucealus Robinson (Gene) Williams, Rachel Robinson Bryant, Rosa Marie Robinson James, Clarice Yvonne Robinson and Norma Jean Robinson Terry; her three brothers Dr. George S. Robinson Jr., James Adam Robinson, Charles Edward Robinson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles (Tammy) Gilchrist, Gina Gilchrist, Darlene Gilchrist, Linda (Benjamin) Bethea, Kathy (Herman) Wallace and Ronnie (Lajeune) Gilchrist. Linda also leaves to cherish her memory: aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host other special relatives and friends.
Linda attended and graduated from Mineral Springs School in Ellerbe, N.C. She furthered her education with The Jobs Corps program and Guilford Technical Community College, studying in the pharmaceutical medication program. At a young age, she dedicated her life to Christ and joined St. Luke Freewill Baptist Church. She was a member of the Twilight Gospel Singers choir and participated in the youth church activities.
Funeral services will be held at St. Luke Freewill Baptist Church in Ellerbe, N.C., at 2 p.m. Family visitation is from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.
SEAGROVE — Constance French Grantham, 67, of Seagrove died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesdayat Ridge Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
MATTHEWS — Charles Kerr, 69, of Matthews (formerly of Charlotte and High Point), died of ALS on Dec. 8, 2013.
The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. prior to funeral service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2013, at Providence United Methodist Church, Charlotte, N.C. Burial will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.
Charlie was born on Oct. 2, 1944, to the late James and Dorothy Kerr.
Graduating from High Point College and receiving his MBA from UNC Chapel Hill, he lived in High Point until moving to Charlotte with Bank of America, where he worked for 36 years.
Survivors are: his wife of 46 years, Pamela Fletcher Kerr; daughter, Jennifer Spear (Bill); son, Christopher Kerr (Dahlia); and four grandchildren; sister, Jean Michie (Craig) of High Point.

Joan Alice McCallum
HIGH POINT — Joan Alice McCallum, 81, of High Point passed away on Dec. 2, 2013. She was born in St. Cloud, Minn., to Gerhard and Anna Stalberger. Mrs. McCallum received a degree in journalism as well as a master’s in education, and she enjoyed a greater than 30 year career as an elementary school teacher in Yakima, Wash. She retired to Squim, Wash., and was a member of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church. She relocated to Pennybyrn at Maryfield in High Point, N.C., in 2012.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Victor McCallum; and siblings: Leora Gross, Jerome Stalberger, Ralph Stalberger and Kenneth Stalberger. She is survived by siblings: Verna Zekan of Charleston, W. Va., Ethel Belle of Margate, Fla., and John Duane Stalberger, of Cedar Falls, Iowa; as well as 28 nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, Dec.13, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Pennybyrn at Maryfield in High Point, N.C. ARCHDALE — Betty Lou Burrow Spivey, 78, died Dec. 8, 2013, at Westwood Health and Rehabilitation.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Holly Hill Memorial Cemetery,

Christine Baker Young
TRINITY — Mrs. Christine Baker Young, 72, a resident of the Steeplegate Community, passed away Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at her home.
A resident of this area all of her life, Christine was born in Davidson County on Oct. 16, 1941, to the late Roy Woodrow Baker and Ruth McCann Baker. Christine had worked as a secretary and attended Green Street Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Brannon Heath Young in 2009.
Surviving are her daughter, Heather Young of the home; and her granddaughter Lauren McDowell of Trinity.
A celebration of Christine’s life will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Sechrest Funeral Service, 120 Trindale Road, Archdale, with the Rev. Frank Hensley officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
