THOMASVILLE — Barbara Campbell, 57, died on Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 at Thomasville Medical Center. Cremation Services entrusted to Triad Cremation Society & Chapel.

Shirlene Kilgoe Mason
HIGH POINT — Mrs. Shirlene Kilgoe Mason, of 3629 Oak Chase Drive, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at the Moses Cone Hospital. She was a native of Seaford, Delaware and a resident of Guilford County for the past 10 years. Mrs. Mason retired from Symrna Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Her parents, James and Alice Kilgoe; beloved husband, George Mason, preceded her in death. Survivors are: son, Dr. T. E. Kilgoe (Dana); four grandchildren, Brandon, Brent, Brycen and Bryah Kilgoe; brothers, James Kilgoe (Marian) and Fred Kilgoe (Renee); special friends, Ruth Streater, Charleta Davis, Jean Horace, Helen Mahoney, Carloyn Wilson, Verdie Paige Burris, Ida Little and Ben Brockman; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, from the Stein Highway Church of God, Stein Highway, Seaford, Delaware. The family visitation will be Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 804 E. Third Street, Seaford, Delaware.  Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 437 N. Jerry Hunt, Sr.
TROY — Mr. Jerry Wayne Hunt, Sr., 52, of Ophir Rd., Troy died Monday, Dec. 23, 2013 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at later date. Briggs Funeral Home in Troy is assisting the Hunt family.

GREENSBORO — Kenneth Hendren, 60, died at Wesley Long hospital on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013. Cremation Services entrusted to Triad Cremation Society & Chapel.

Joseph Autry
HIGH POINT – Mr. Joseph V. Autry, 71, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2013, at Hospice Home at High Point. He was born on June 21, 1942, to the late Joe and Ruth Autry. He was also preceded in death by one sister, one brother and a son.
Joseph was employed at Lilly Industries for over 26 years. He was a hardworking husband, father, and grandfather giving his love the way he could and going the extra mile to insure happiness. Joseph gave a strong handshake to let you know that you were safe. A man amongst many that knew we are on borrowed time.
He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Thomasville where he was the president of the Gospel Choir, Men’s Choir and a member of the Trustee Board. Later, he united with Hallelujah Baptist Church.
He was married to his sweetheart, Mamie D. Autry for 38 wonderful years which seems like it just wasn’t enough.
Those left to cherish his memories are, his wife, Mamie Autry of the home; two sons, Clifton Autry and James Cox; two daughters, Lynette Reed and Joyce Cox; two brothers, Paul and James Autry; one sister, Mary Bett, eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Hallelujah Baptist Church, 2511 Guyer Street. Interment will follow in Carolina Biblical Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m.

Robert L. “Bob” Bieber
ARCHDALE — Robert L. “Bob” Bieber, 73, passed away unexpectedly Friday, December 20, 2013, at his residence.
Bob was born in Washington, D.C., March 24, 1940, a son of Robert L. Bieber and Elizabeth Faunce Bieber. He served as a M.P. in the Air Force . Bob retired from Carolina Container, helped start Package Crafters and also drove for Prime Lumber. Bob was a loving, warm and kind person. He was also an avid hobbyist and wood crafter, who gave his models and crafts to children and friends.
Surviving are a daughter, Valerie Carr and husband Rick of Cordova, TN; his fiancé, Jean Cassada and her son, Ken Roach of the home; 5 grandchildren, Mellisa, Crystal, Derrick, Jennifer and Andrew; and seven great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held Saturday at 4 p.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel by Rev. Rick Carr and the Rev. Harold Shives. Ilene Pennington Monk
PENSACOLA, FLA. — Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend went home to be with the Lord and to be reunited with her late husband, Rev. J. Charlie Monk, Jr. on Monday, December 23, 2013.
She was born December 17, 1921, in Mobile, Alabama to the late Walter Franklin and Lillie Jane Hinote Pennington. She spent her early life in Mobile, Alabama and attended the Tabernacle Bible Church under the ministry of Rev. Henry Grube. She graduated from Murphy High School in 1940 and in 1941 attended Bob Jones College in Cleveland, Tennessee. There she met J. Charlie Monk, a Bible major from Erwin, Tennessee and they married Thanksgiving, 1944. She served with her husband in the ministry as a faithful pastor’s wife, Sunday School teacher, ladies missionary fellowship leader, and adult choir member. Their ministries led them to the First Baptist Church, Bassett, Virginia for two years, Brinson, Georgia for two years, Brentwood Baptist Church, High Point, North Carolina for thirty-nine years, Euclid Avenue Baptist Church, Bristol, Virginia for six years, and Paperville Baptist Church, Bristol, Virginia for three years. They celebrated 57 years of marriage in November 2001. In April 2002, her husband went to be with the Lord. Following his death, Ilene continued to live in Tennessee for two years. In 2004 she returned to Mobile, Alabama to be closer to immediate family members who still lived in the area. In 2006, she moved to Pensacola, Florida to be near her oldest daughter. While in Pensacola, she attended the Campus Church of Pensacola Christian College.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, W. Frederick Pennington, Sr. and W. Clifford Pennington; and sister, Helen Latham. Survivors include two daughters, Charlene F. Monk of Pensacola, Florida and Priscilla J. Moore of Greenville, South Carolina; one grandson, Derek K. Moore of Greenville, South Carolina; two sisters, Marie Humes of Austin, Texas and Lillie Mae Dudley of Richmond, Virginia; sister-in-law, Virginia Pennington of Williamsburg, Virginia; brother-in-law and wife Paul C. and Helen Monk of Erwin, Tennessee, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2013, at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home, Volunteer Parkway, Bristol, Tennessee. The funeral service will follow at 8 p.m with Pastor Bob Jones, Euclid Avenue Baptist Church Bristol, Virginia, Dr. Reggie Weems Heritage Baptist Church Johnson City Tennessee and officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Eric Hicks First Baptist Church of Bristol, Virginia. The committal and interment service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2013, in Evergreen Cemetery Erwin, Tennessee with Rev. Kevin Watson officiating.
Honorary and active pallbearers will be Derek K. Moore, W. Frederick Pennington, Jr., W. Don Pennington, Norm C. Pennington, David L. Pennington, Tom S. Pennington, Walter Louis Latham, Paul Latham, Douglas Treadway, Brandon Treadway, Clark Duncan, and Jarrod Foster.
The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the Health Center of Pensacola C-wing nurses and staff for their attentive care and love for 6 years and to Covenant Hospice.
