LEXINGTON— Flossie Everhart Berrier, 92, died Thursday, May 29, 2014.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at Beulah United Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 30, at Davidson Funeral Home.

LEXINGTON — James Otis Cockrum Sr., 87, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel.
JAMESTOWN — Thurman Grayson Haynes, 97, died Thursday, May, 29, 2014, at the home of his son.
Funeral plans are pending at Sechrest Funeral Service in High Point.
ASHEBORO — Rosalind Renea Hammonds Jones, 51, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, June 1, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Ridge Funeral Home.
LINWOOD — Ruby Peeler Lassiter, 95, died Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Rowan Regional Hospital in Salisbury. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 1, at Smith Grove Baptist Church. Davidson Funeral Home is serving the family.
HIGH POINT — Patty Pegg Murphy, 87, passed away May 28, 2014.
Graveside Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 31, 2014 at Sandy Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery.
A native of Guilford County, Patty was the daughter of the late Annie Lee Pegg and William Wesley Pegg, Sr. She was an RN and started her nursing career at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro. She worked most of her nursing career with Dr. Edwin Vaughan in Greensboro. She was a member of Sandy Ridge United Methodist Church.
She was married to the late James Melvin Murphy, Jr.
Survivors include her son Jerry Allen Murphy and Alicia of High Point; grandchildren, Lisa Murphy Long and Kenneth of Kannapolis, and Wesley Murphy of High Point; great-grandson, Joshua Long of Kannapolis; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family will visit with friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall of Sandy Ridge United Methodist Church.

HIGH POINT — Gloria Jean Schwabenton passed away May 24, 2014, at Maryfield in High Point, NC.
Born September 30, 1921 in San Jose, CA, Gloria was the only daughter of William Joseph Avila and Ila Stewart Avila and grew up in the farming town of Porterville, CA.
An award winning artist with a BA in Art from the University of California at Berkley, Gloria worked as an artist at Walt Disney Studios.
In 1943, Gloria and Naval Lt. Kenneth J. Schwabenton of Louisville, KY, married. After World War II, Kenneth and Gloria moved to Sedgefield NC, where they raised their daughter Karen and son Bill.
During her later years, Gloria lived in Light House Point and later Sebastian, FL. Gloria was a member of the Sedgefield Woman’s Club, Sedgefield Hunt and Alpha Xi Delta Sorority.
Gloria is predeceased by her husband Kenneth J. Schwabenton and grandson Craig Shipper.
She is survived by her son William (Marilyn) Schwabenton of Greensboro NC; daughter, Karen (John) Shipper of Kiowa, CO; granddaughters, Grier Schwbenton (Chad) Hock of Greensboro NC, Brooke Schwabenton (Murphy) Townsend of Greensboro NC and Cameron Stewart Schwabenton of Charleston, SC; grandsons, Kenneth (Nina) Schwabenton of Mt. Hood, OR, and David Shipper of Denver, CO; and four great-grandchildren.

HIGH POINT — Ms. Shenetha Marcell Williams, 33, was born on October 6, 1980 in High Point, NC to Ms. Angel Williams and the late Terry Buchanan. She entered into eternal rest on May 26, 2014 at High Point Regional UNC Healthcare.
Shenetha attended Guilford County Public Schools and received her high school diploma in 1998 from Guilford Technical Community College. She also, received an Early Childhood Certification at Guilford Technical Community College. At the age of 16, she completed her Certified Nursing Assistant certification from Evergreens Nursing Center.
She received Christ at an early age and was a lover of God’s word and people. Socially, she was a member of Macedonia Moms and Women of Faith. She loved her family dearly and was the “life of the party.” She enjoyed laughing, dancing and having a good time! Her smile and laughter will forever be cherished.
Shenetha was preceded in death by her father; maternal grandmother, Earnestine Carmichael Williams; paternal grandparents, Deryl Buchanan, William and Shadie McCall Adams; uncle, Michael McCall; aunt, Shirley Davis.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Kayla Williams and Cory Williams of High Point, NC; her mother, Angel Williams of Durham, NC; granddaughter, Aaiden Dexter of High Point, NC; sisters, Asia Williams, Shannon Buchanan both of High Point, NC and Ashley Buchanan of Fort Lauderdale, FL; niece, Aubree Allen of High Point, NC; maternal grandfather, Harry Williams of High Point, NC; stepmother, Lillie Buchanan of High Point, NC; aunts, Carrie Thompson, Glenda (Larry) Inzar, Verna (William) Strickland, Penny (Carl) Torrence, Vivian Buchanan, Sherry Barber and Geraldine McCall all of High Point, NC; uncles, Willie (Lottie) Williams of Durham, NC, Clayton (Thomasine) Williams, Dwayne Buchanan both of High Point, NC and Jerry Buchanan of Reno, Nevada; special friend, Antonio Graham of High Point, NC; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 1225 Chestnut Dr. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens, Jamestown, NC. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 p.m. until 12:30 p.m.
