Rachael Dobbins

HIGH POINT — Rachael Sappenfield Dobbins, 90, died Sunday, May 26, 2014.

Arrangements are pending, Sechrest Funeral Service in High Point is in charge of arrangements.

 

Janie Everhart

HIGH POINT — Mrs. Janie Ruth Cecil Everhart, 88, a resident of Genesis Triad Care and formerly of Black Road in Thomasville, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Genesis Triad Care. 

She was born on October 10, 1925 in Davidson County, NC to the late Roy Thomas Cecil and the late Esther Lula Sink Cecil.  She was a graduate of Hasty High School.  She retired from Freeman Manufacturing and was a member of Hillside Park Baptist Church.

On June 29, 1949, she married David Thomas Everhart, who survives of Genesis Triad Care.  Also surviving are her son, Charles Larry Everhart and wife Mary of Thomasville; one granddaughter, Lisa Scott of Thomasville; five great- grandchildren, Taylor and husband Victor, Sierra, Joshua, Lauren, and Jacklyn; one great-great grandson, Julian; and sister, Bertha Cranford of Thomasville.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Dr. Steve Chipps officiating.  Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Friday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hillside Park Baptist Church, P.O. Box 441, Thomasville, NC 27361.

GREENSBORO –  Aiden Dewayne Field died Friday, May 23, 2014 at Moses Cone Women’s Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 29,  at Friendship Holiness Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 p.m. until 1 p.m. Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.

GREENSBORO – Adonis Dayquan Field died Friday, May 23, 2014, at Moses Cone Women’s Hospital.

Chris Hanes

WINSTON-SALEM — Stephen Christopher “Chris” Hanes, age 28, a resident of Winston-Salem, passed away Monday, May 26, 2014.

He was born April 3, 1986 in High Point to Scott Hanes and Debbie Burton Hanes, and had been a resident of the High Point area most of his life. He was manager of Harris Teeter in Winston-Salem on Cloverdale Drive, and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Thomasville. Chris’ interests included weightlifting, Ju-Jitsu, and eating Japanese food. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Chris was a loving husband, father, and son.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Richard Hanes and Mary Lou Hanes Ingram.

He is survived by his wife, Taylor Hansen Hanes of the home; his children, Noah and Naomi Hanes of the home; his parents, Scott and Debbie Burton Hanes of Trinity; his sister, Melissa Hanes of Trinity. Also surviving are his maternal grandparents, Jack and Kathy Burton of Archdale; mother-in-law, Ruth Roberts and her husband Michael of Winston-Salem; his father-in-law, Phil Hansen of Mesa, Arizona.

A service to celebrate Chris’ life will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the First United Methodist Church in Thomasville, with Reverend Cris Uren officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale.

Janet Moore 

HIGH POINT — Mrs. Janet Anne (McGee) Moore, 70, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Forsyth Hospital. She was the loving wife of Lloyd B. Moore to whom she was married for 47 ½ years.

Mrs. Moore was born on December 17, 1943 in Winston-Salem, a daughter of the late Robert Wilson and Alto Correneth (Thornburg) McGee. She was a graduate of Sherwood School of Music and Winston-Salem Business College. 

She was passionate about playing the piano and turned it into a career for over 40 years as a piano teacher.

She was a member of Oak View Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Moore is survived by a son, Terry Allen Moore and his wife, Shanita Annette of Linwood, NC; three grandchildren, Jay Allen Moore of Salisbury, NC, Jessica Nicole Williams of Salisbury, NC and Lathan Cody Sisk of Linwood, NC; five great grandchildren, Haiden, Layla, Serenity, Gabe, and Kingston; a sister, Hilda M. Greene and her husband, Terry B. of Galax, VA; and a nephew, Shane Greene of Winston-Salem, NC.

A celebration of life funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2014 at Oak View Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Winston-Salem. A visitation will be held from noon to 1:00 p.m. Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Oak View Baptist Church (Maynmar Missions Fund), 810 Oakview Rd., High Point, NC 27265.
