PILOT MOUNTAIN — Bobby Eugene Cody, formerly of High Point, passed away May 15, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem.
Born May 9, 1940, Mr Cody was employed by the Lilly Company on English Road in High Point until his retirement in 2000.
He is survived his wife Pam Hiatt Cody; his sons, Mark Cody of Wilmington and Michael Cody of High Point; his daughters, Natasha McCellan of High Point and Kelly Fayne of King; and a brother, Larry Cody and wife Ann of Allen Jay. He also is survived by seven grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at City Lake Park, Shelter #7 (Camp Ann side).

NEW BERN — Clyde Philip Farmer, 83 of New Bern NC, passed on the 60th wedding anniversary he shared with his wife, Bennie Lou Farmer, who preceded him in death on May 22, 2014.
He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Oakland Baptist Church in Gum Springs, VA, a life-long member of the VFW and the Lions Club.
He is survived by three daughters, Surrie Farmer McNeill of High Point; Gracia Lou Schoditsch of Richmond, VA; Felicia Phylis Farmer of Charlotte; one brother, Boyd L. Farmer of Clayton; one sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Lassiter of Archdale; and five grandchildren, Jennifer R. McNeill, Clifford J. McNeill, IV, Katharine K. McNeill, Paula C. Roberson and Philip C. Roberson.
A memorial service will be held at Southside Baptist Church / First Baptist Church Fellowship hall Saturday May 31st, 2014 at 3 PM

THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Ruth Gibbs Gorham, 90, resident of Thomasville, died May 23rd, 2014 at Spring Arbor Assisted Living Center.
Mrs. Gorham was born November 8th, 1923 in Spartanburg, SC, a daughter to the late Lucius W. and Jessie Lillian Smith Gibbs. She was a resident of Alexandria, VA the majority of her life and had been living in the Thomasville/High Point area since 1987. She was a member of Green St. Baptist Church where she was a Bible Study Fellowship group leader. In 1942 she married William Curtis Gorham Sr. who preceded her in death in 2000.
Surviving are two daughters, Judith Johnson and husband Ed of Burke, VA and Jean Dart and husband Michael of Richmond, VA; two sons, William Curtis Gorham Jr. and wife Sally of Williamsburg, VA and Raymond Lee Gorham and wife Carol of Beltsville, VA; a sister, Joyce Devan of Pennsylvania; a brother, Robert L. Gibbs of Maryland; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point with Rev. Frank Hensley officiating. Interment will be held at National Memorial Park Cemetery in Falls Church, VA on Tuesday. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday. HIGH POINT — Timothy Lee Locklear, 41, passed away May 23, 2014 at the High Point Regional Hospital.
Timothy was born in Stanley County, April 7, 1973, a son of Robert Tim Cox and Brenda Locklear. He worked in the furniture industry as long as his health permitted. Timothy loved fishing, shooting pool, the beach and NASCAR. He was preceded in death by his father and grandmother, Mildred Williams.
Surviving are a son, Christian Locklear; his mother, Brenda Malone; twin sister, Tamara Locklear and Donald; two aunts, Glenda Hardister and Carolyn Bass; three uncles, James, Larry and Terry Locklear; a nephew, Cody Locklear; and numerous cousins.
A Celebration of Timothy’s Life will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Davis Funerals and Cremations Chapel. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Elizabeth R. Mish
ASHEBORO — Elizabeth Rumsey Mish, 90 of High Point, NC, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014. She was living in Asheboro at the time of her death.
She was born October 22, 1923, and grew up in High Point, NC. Later, as a military wife, “Libby” lived in Germany and Okinawa, and on several Army bases in the U.S.
She came back to High Point in 1965 and worked in the offices of Golding Bros., Rapier Mills and Old Dominion until her retirement.
Elizabeth was a beloved wife, mother and “Am-Mama.”
She was preceded in death by her son, Johnny Edward Mish. She is survived by her sister, Arlene Rumsey of Archdale, NC.; daughter June E. Cranford and husband, Leonard of Star, NC; grandson, Eric T. Cranford and wife Sherita of Asheboro, NC; and granddaughter Kelley E. Schneider and husband David of Travelers Rest, SC. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Gavin Schneider.
A private service will be held by the family at a later date.

J. Lloyd Myers
HIGH POINT — Mr. J. Lloyd Myers, 88, resident of High Point, died May 23rd, 2014 at Westchester Manor.
Mr. Myers was born June 19th, 1925 in Guilford County, a son to the late James Ovid and Ida McNeil Myers. He was a resident of this area all his life, except for the 20 years he spent living in Tennessee. He had worked at Southern Sales and was of the Baptist faith. On December 22nd, 1945 he married the former Opal Barnes who survives of Westchester Manor. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two children, Jessie Lloyd Myers Jr. and Wilma Myers; two sisters, Betty Perdue and Savannah Presswood; and a brother, Gary “Buck” Myers.
Also surviving is a son, Don Myers and wife Adele of High Point; two brothers, Wayne Myers and wife Jean of High Point and Dan Myers of Thomasville; a sister, Vernell Clifton of Thomasville; two grandchildren, Kim Brock and husband Larry of Sanford and Stephen Myers and wife Rebekah of Germany; and two great grandchildren, Gregor and Kylie Brock.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church, 405 N. Main St. High Point, NC 27260. ARCHDALE — Janice Reece, 63, of Archdale, died Friday, May 23,2014, at the Hospice Home of High Point. The family will receive friends during a memorial service that will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 30 at Open Door Baptist Church, 10134 North Main Street in Archdale.
ARCHDALE — Mr. James Lee Smith, 92, of Archdale, died Friday, May 23, 2014 at High Point Regional Hospital.
Born Feb. 13, 1922, in Guilford County, James was the son of the late William Turner and Alma Alice Hinshaw Smith. He was a World War II veteran having served as a K-9 trainer with the United States Marine Corp. He owned and operated Smith Auto repair for over 50 years and was a member of Thomasville Pentecostal Holiness Church. James loved going to the coast to fish. On September 20, 1941, he married the former Lucille Alice Proctor who preceded him in death on May 13, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Archie “Carris” Smith.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandy Gardner and husband, Bill, of Thomasville, and Phyllis Clabough and husband, Don, of High Point; three grandchildren, Ronald Gardner and wife, Kelly, of Thomasville, Deanna Buscema and husband, Chris, of Aurora, CO, and Suzanne Dismukes and husband, Greg, of Knoxville, TN; four great grandchildren, Alexandra Gardner, Dominic, Gabriel, and Macy Buscema; and a brother, Melvin T. “Jack” Smith and wife, Jane, of Wallburg.
Funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale officiated by Rev. Pete Bumgarner. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Harvey Wilson Jr.
HIGH POINT — Wednesday May 21 Harvey Stevenson Wilson Jr. better known as “Steve” passed away at High Point Hospital due to heart complications. He leaves behind a daughter Nicole Wilson, grandson Christian Wilson, five sisters, several nieces and nephews. He was honored and loved by both his family co-workers and community. He played softball and coached little league football in the High Point Archdale area throughout his life. He was a great friend to many. He will truly be missed. Memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Tuesday May 27 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 279 Eastchester Drive High Point NC 27262 followed by memorial dinner held at the fellowship hall on location.
