Edward Dwight
RICHMOND, VA. — Edward Foote Dwight, 53, of Richmond, Va,m and formerly of High Point, died on May 12, 2014. 
Born July 23, 1960, Edward was raised in Demarest, N.J. He attended the Salisbury School in Salisbury, Conn., and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he majored in journalism and lettered on the tennis team.
Edward will be remembered for his gentle and kind spirit, his dry and funny sense of humor and his economy of words. Edward loved his family and friends, and the special places where they gathered in Maine, Georgia, and Bermuda. He had a special love for the family dogs. Edward was intelligent, persevering, and loyal. He is remembered for his remarkable perseverance through decades of battling anxiety and depression.
Now in God’s presence, he is free of this struggle.  
A tennis professional in High Point, Edward leaves behind treasured friendships that were fostered through shared work and a love for the game. His sense of fairness and integrity in the midst of competition were an example to all who were on the court with him. Edward was admired by his friends and family for his Christian faith as an active member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in High Point and at Hope Church in Richmond. 
Edward was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his mother Jane M. Dwight of Wenham, Mass.; sister and brother-in-law, Jodie and Jack Stevenson of South Hamilton, Mass.; and brother and sister-in-law, David and Elisabeth Dwight of Richmond.  Additionally, Edward is survived by his nieces Grace Stevenson and Laura Dwight, and nephew, David Dwight, Jr. 
He is preceded in death by his father, Murray P. Dwight, of Wenham, Mass.
A memorial service will be held in celebration of Edward’s life on Wednesday, May 21, at 1:00 p.m. at Hope Church, 12445 Patterson Avenue, Richmond. Additionally, a memorial service will be held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in High Point  on Thursday, May 22 at  noon. 
Gifts in Edward’s memory may be made to Mass General Hospital, Depression & Clinical Research Program Development Office, 100 Cambridge St., Suite 1310, Boston, MA 02114.

Lanny ‘Joe’ Allen Ensley
THOMASVILLE — Mr. Lanny “Joe” Allen Ensley, 65, passed away suddenly Saturday, May 17, 2014, at High Point Regional Hospital.
Joe was born on April 13, 1949, in Guilford County, to the late Grady and Mary Snow Ensley.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gregory Ensley.  He lived in Thomasville all of his life and was of the Baptist faith. 
Lanny grew up on the family tobacco farm and helped his family raise tobacco from a young age up until he graduated high school. Joe was a graduate of Ledford High School, and retired as a truck driver and warehouse manager with Rex Oil Company after 34 years of service.  He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a humble, honest, and dedicated father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, who always put his family first.  He was loved by many and will be missed dearly by all that knew him.
Joe leaves behind to cherish his memory two daughters, Angela Greene and her husband Skip of Archdale and Cynthia Kendrick and her husband John of Trinity; two sisters, Mitzi Hayworth and her husband, Larry and Michelle Clodfelter and her husband Timmy, all of Thomasville; three grandchildren, Brittany Ensley, Patrick Kendrick, and Lexi Greene and one great-grandson, Wyatt Allison.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 21st, at Zion United Church of Christ with Rev. Dr. James Simonds and Rev. Roger Carmichael officiating.  Interment will be held at the church cemetery immediately following the services.  The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 20th from 6 until 8 p.m. at Zion United Church of Christ, 130 Hasty School Road, Thomasville, NC.

GREENSBORO- James P. Haynes, 69, died Saturday, May 17, 2014.
Cremation Services were entrusted to Triad Cremation Society & Chapel.

Patrick Isley
GREENSBORO-Patrick L. Isley, 44, died on Friday, May 16, 2014.
Arrangements are pending at this time.

ASHEBORO — Lila Marie Bean Payne, 85, died Sunday, May 18, 2014.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, at Ridge Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 7 to  9 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at Ridge Funeral Home.

Michael Scott
THOMASVILLE —  Michael Alexander Scott, 42, died  Thursday, May 15, 2014 at his residence.
The funeral service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at New Deliverance Worship Center with family visitation a half hour before the service.
Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Roberts Funeral Service.

LEXINGTON — Allie “Frankie” Everhart Shaw,  88, died Sunday, May 18, 2014.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 22, at Madison Heights Free Will Baptist Church. Arrangements by Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington.

Tommy Steele
LEXINGTON — Tommy Leland Steele, 74 died Sunday, May 18, 2014,
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 in the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Wallburg Chapel. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday,  May 21.
