Opal Dockham
DENTON — Mrs. Opal Coggin Dockham, age 89 formerly of Forest Park Drive, Denton, NC died Thursday, July 11 at Mountain Vista Health Park in Denton.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 13 at Denton Town Cemetery.
The family will see friends following the service at Central United Methodist Church Hut.
Briggs Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Charles Amos Collins
GREENSBORO — Mr. Charles Amos Collins, age 81, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013.
Mr. Collins was born Sept. 14, 1931 in Winston Salem, NC. He was the son of the late T.C. Collins, Sr. and Burwell Matkins Collins. He graduated from Greensboro Senior High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He married “Boo” Dempsey, joined the Air Force and was stationed in Japan where they lived for three years before returning to Greensboro. Charles served as deacon at First Baptist Church. He retired from Henley Paper Company. He enjoyed boating and fishing, was a member of the Power Squadron, and the O’Henry Civitan Club. Watching the Tarheels with Boo was a favorite pass time.
Charles moved to Wrightsville Beach after Boo passed away and later married Rush Wrenn. They enjoyed attending First Presbyterian Church and spending time with Allen and Jodi Rippy, Matt Wrenn, Chip Wrenn and their families. He also volunteered at Helping Hands in Wilmington.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Boo, and second wife Rush. He is survived by his brother Clyde Collins (Dot), his son Chuck Collins (Laura), Daughter Kay Collins Evans (Terry), son David Collins (Pam), son Keith Collins (Wende), and grandchildren Caroline Landreth (Cris), Christine Collins, Taylor Bulla (Ethan), Kacey Evans, Amanda Evans, Tucker and Max Collins, Ian Collins, and great grandchildren Corbin Bulla, Jaxon Bulla and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Paul H. Gibson and sister-in-law Delee Dempsey.
The funeral will be Monday, July 15 at 4 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Elm street Greensboro followed by visitation. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro.
The family would like to thank Dr. Michele Haber for her guidance and care as well as the staff of Heritage Greens and the Arboretum. You will forever be in our prayers.

LEXINGTON — Linda Carol Leonard, 68, of Lexington died Friday July 12, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.

Roberta Poe
HIGH POINT — Mrs. Roberta Poe, age 96, formally of McColl, S.C. passed away on Monday, July 8, 2013 at High Point Regional Hospital. She was born in Fairmont, N.C. on Dec. 25, 1916 to the late Frank and Lizzie Moore Alford.
Roberta was employed with McColl Middle School for 45 years. She recently relocated to High Point after residing in McColl, S.C. for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Poe, one son, William White; four sisters; four brothers; two grandsons, Harold White and Wilbert Brown.
Granny meant a lot to her family and she will missed.  Those left to cherish her memories are, Margaret Hope, Estella White, Roberta (Nathaniel) Bridges, Carolyn Strickland all of High Point, N.C., Helen White of McColl, S.C., Wayne Brown of Atlanta, Ga., James White, Larry (Marie) Martin, William White and Luther Brown all of High Point, N.C.; a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, other family members and friends.
Home-going celebration will be 2:30 p.m., Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Living Water Baptist Church.  Family visitation will begin at 2-2:30 p.m. at the church. LEXINGTON — Rile Elwood Taylor, 79, of Riverwood Drive, died Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Wake Forest Baptist Health - Lexington Medical Center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Davidson Funeral Home. Burial will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at National Cemetery, Salisbury. There will be no public visitation.
