LEXINGTON — Mr. Cletus Leo Hilliard, 86, of Hill Street, died Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Alston Brook of Lexington. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

ASHEBORO — Mrs. Shirley Ann Williams Kearns, 74, of Asheboro, died Sunday, June 2, 2013. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. LEXINGTON — Tolola Myrtle Lang, 88, died Monday, June 3, 2013, at her residence in Lexington. Mrs. Lang was born April 17, 1925, in Anson County to the late June and Minnie Doby Hilliard.
Myrtle loved to sew quilts and was famous for her baking and cooking. She also enjoyed music and singing.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Reverend Robert Doby, Ernest Hilliard and parents.
Myrtle is survived by her beloved husband John Lang of the home; daughter, Lois Leonard and husband George; sons, Wayne Lang and wife Shirley, Eugene Lang and wife Bernice, Nathan Lang and wife Sherry; sister, Cora Boone; 13 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 5, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thomasville Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 6th at Penticostal Church of the Living God in Lexington; burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Cambell Cemetery in Chesterfield, SC.

HIGH POINT — Mrs. Bernice Wilson McCall, 89, of 1118 Grace Street, died on Friday, May 31, 2013, at Hospice Home at High Point.
Bernice was born on April 10, 1924, to Foster Brown and Lula Wilson in Marlboro County, South Carolina and spent most of her adult life in High Point. She was a faithful member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Kitchen Committee, Senior Choir, Missionary Ministry, and Gospel Chorus. She was formerly employed as a machine operator with Guilford Veneer.
Mrs. McCall was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Jannie W. Streeter, four brothers, and three sisters.
Surviving relatives include four sons, Johnny McCall of High Point, Cleveland (Kaila) McCall of Archdale, Ronnie (Jennie) McCall of Newport News, VA, Thurmond McCall of Largo, MD; two daughters, Delia Harrington of High Point, and Betty J. Livingston of Hamlet, NC; brother, Jimmie Wilson of High Point; aunts, Shadie Mae Mobley, and Martha Johnson both of High Point; forty-six grandchildren; thirty-eight great children; seven great great grandchildren; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 715 W. Willis Ave. Burial will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens, Jamestown. Family visitation will be at the church on Wednesday, 1:30 to 2 p.m. and other times at the residence. Johnson and Sons is assisting the family. TRINITY — Hyacinth (Medlin) Marsh, 90, formerly of Pine Ridge Nursing Home, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013. She was the loving wife of the late Willard Charlie Marsh.
Mrs. Marsh was born on September 17, 1922, in Guilford County, a daughter of the late Henry Smith and Evie (Fields) Medlin.
Mrs. Marsh is survived by two nephews, Billy Joe Minor of Sophia and Ernest Smith Minor of Asheboro; two great nephews, Dean Minor and his wife, Darlene of Trinity and Robert Minor of Asheboro; a great niece, Tammy Goodwin and her husband, Keith of Asheboro; several great-great nieces and nephews; and three great-great-great nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Marsh was preceded in death by a brother, Woodrow Medlin and a sister, Edith (Medlin) Minor.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. June 4, 2013, at Floral Garden Memorial Park with Pastor, Doug Byrd officiating.

ARCHDALE — Danny Ray Cruthis, age 49, died unexpectedly, of an apparent heart attack, Thursday, May 30th, while on a business trip in Missouri.
A resident of this area for most of his life, Danny was born October 13th, 1963, in Ft. Eustis, Virginia a son of Danielle Ray, who died in August of 2000, and Elizabeth Thayer Cruthis. He was a graduate of Trinity High School and was a self-employed trucker. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed the mountains and outdoor activties such as, hunting, fishing and spending time with his two Labrador Retrievers, Abbey and Ray Vaughan, who adored him. His favorite past time was listening to his son Taylor play his guitar and helping his band with their shows.
Danny is survived by his spouse, Tammy Bundy Cruthis of the home; mother, Elizabeth Thayer Cruthis of Archdale; a son Taylor Anderson Cruthis of Archdale; his sister, Misty Cruthis Puckett and her husband John of Custer, Washington; his grandmother, Martha Beck Cruthis of Asheboro; two nieces, Fallon and Payton Puckett and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Rev. Roy Green officiating. Burial will be in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point.

Brenda Mallory Crase
ARCHDALE — Mrs. Brenda Mallory Crase, 64, a resident of Archdale, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Westwood Health and Rehabilitation Center. Brenda was born June 28, 1948, in Elliston, VA, the daughter of Nancy Smith Mallory, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Michael Crase, two brothers, Robert Mallory and John “Bud” Mallory.
Surviving is her son Jerry Wayne Suggs, Jr. of Jamestown and grandson Jacob T. Suggs of Jamestown. She is also survived by three sisters Karen Ramsey of High Point and Rita Grimment and husband Saford of Sophia and Judy Mallory Wilson of Archdale.
Brenda had lived her last 46 years in the Archdale area, retiring from Hickory Springs after 44 years as a logistic and shipping manager. Brenda enjoyed attending gospel music events with friends and family and being with her grandson, for any and all reasons. Family was Brenda’s greatest love.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service Archdale. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
