Larry Alexander
THOMASVILLE — Mr. Larry L. Alexander, 67, a resident of Thomasville, passed away on February 23, 2014, at Forsyth Medical Center. Larry was born October 29, 1946, in Carroll County, Virginia, a son of the late Charles Alexander and Minnie Hanks Alexander. He had lived in this area for the last fifty years. He was a retired machine operator and former employee of Thomasville Furniture Industries. Larry enjoyed raising beagles and he loved his canine companions Wishbone and Lucky-Miss Priss. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Giles Alexander.
Surviving is his wife, Vickie Hunt Alexander of the home; sisters, Lora Akers, Gertrude Holston of Virginia, Merceedes (Nancy) Harbin of Georgia and Gail Dillon of West Virginia; brothers, Nathaniel Alexander of Ohio, Clayburn Alexander and wife Shirley of Virginia, Atchly Alexander and wife Josephine of Graham; sister-in-law Wanda Alexander of Lexington. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and one special niece and caregiver Nancy Lambeth.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in God’s Harvest Worship Center in Thomasville with Rev. Joe T. Beane and Mr. Max Kmentt officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of Davidson County, P.O. Box 1791 Lexington, N.C. 27293-1791. Eloise Boyst
JAMESTOWN — Mrs. Eloise Winslow Boyst, 89, a resident of Jamestown died Monday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.

Andy Brown
HOLLY SPRINGS — Andrew Carson Brown (Andy), 43, died Sunday, February 23, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family as was his wish. Andy grew up in Trinity and graduated from Trinity High School in 1988. Upon graduating he attended Pfeiffer College. Later he joined the U. S. Coast Guard where he was a Communication Officer. Among other duties, he spent most of his service in Grand Haven, Michigan. Andy received multiple decorations for service to the degree that he was recommended by James D. Bjostad, Lieutenant Commander, to attend officers training school. After his military service he joined Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Raleigh where he continued to use his communication skills. Prior to his death, Andy was Incident Manager with Verizon Business where handling communication problems for high profile corporations.  
Andy was predeceased by his infant Brother: Alex Courtney Brown, His Paternal grandparents: L. G. and Vera Brown and his maternal grandfather Frank Phillips. Surviving are his wife: Rachel Lynn Hodge Brown and his two loving children: Abigail (Abby) and Tanner. Also surviving are his mother Annette Troxler and step-father Mike; his father James (Bugsy) Brown and step-mother: Myra; step sister Tracey Troxler Dollarhite and husband Kevin and niece Amber; step grandfather Dr. Bill Harring; step grand mother Peggy Rich; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and friends. 
The family will receive friends from 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2014, in the Roger Decker Fellowship Hall Adjacent to Midway Presbyterian Church, 9115 NC Highway 130 West, Maxton, N.C. 28364. The Memorial Service will follow the visitation at 3 p.m., in the Church; the service will be officiated by Reverend Adam Blackmon, cousin of the deceased. A private family burial will precede the visitation and service. In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials may be made to: The Americans Cancer Society in Care of esophageal cancer, Midway Presbyterian Church or a charity of ones choice. Pierre Buie
HIGH POINT — Pierre Buie, 21, of High Point passed away on Friday, Saturday, February 21, 2014, at his residence. He was born on October 23, 1993, in High Point. He is the youngest of three children. Pierre  attended Haynes-Inman Education Center in Jamestown. His expected graduation date was June 11, 2014. Pierre was known for his charismatic smile. He enjoyed watching television and being surrounded by family and friends. Pierre was preceded in death by both maternal and paternal great grandparents; one uncle, James McCallum and two aunts, Sandra Buie and Yvette Caldwell. He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Jacqueline Buie of the home; his father, Gary Caldwell of High Point; step-father, Warren Scott of High Point; two sisters, Dorean and Jacques Buie both of the home; one brother, Kwashawn Campbell of High Point; stepbrother, Warren Scott Jr. of Greensboro; maternal grandparents, Robert and Doris Bostic of High Point and Sherman Buie of Fairmont; paternal grandparents, John and Margaret Caldwell of High Point; a host of, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. ASHEBORO — Mrs. Avis Jamie Williams Callicutt, 80, of Asheboro, died Monday, February 24, 2014. Bernice Frazier
WILMINGTON — Bernice Davis Frazier, beloved mother and grandmother, joined her Savior in Heaven on February 24, 2014, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington, N.C. She was born in Randolph County, the daughter of Bertha and Urb Davis. She was 94 years young. Bernice was known for her youthful spirit, boundless energy and love for her family. She provided a loving Christian home for her family and we will be eternally grateful for this. She retired from Silver Knit Hosiery in 1983 and was a member of High Point Friends Meeting.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James D. Frazier Sr., son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Brenda Frazier, brothers and sisters, Horace (Vera) Davis, Kyle Davis, Grace (Chester) Coltrane, Gilmer Davis, Golda (Kermit) Reynolds and Bill (Bonnie) Davis. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca (Ronald) Wright of Wilmington, granddaughters Lori Frazier (Greg) Meister of Wichita, Kan., Heather Cooper (Brian) Hetzell of Wilmington, grandson David (Lynn) Frazier of Charlotte, 6 great-grandchildren with the 7th due in July. The family will receive friends from 6- 8 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014, at Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point. A funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday March 1 in Cumby Chapel on Eastchester Drive followed by interment in Floral Gardens Memorial Park.

Linda Hart
HIGH POINT — Linda Aline Hart, 57, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014, at High Point Regional Hospital. She was born on October 5, 1956 in Buncombe County to Saint Elmer Caldwell and Teenie Harwood Caldwell. Linda is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Albert Eugene Caldwell, Joseph Kelly Caldwell. Linda is survived by Rickie Hart of the home, sons; Rickie Hart, Jr. and wife Pearl, Kenneth Eugene Hart, daughter Tammy Renee’ Hart all of Randleman, Grandchildren Bradley Alexander Hart, Tiffany Renee’ Hart, Jacob Johnson and Cody Johnson. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. on Thursday February 27, 2014, at Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Bobby Loving officiating. Norma Leonard
LEXINGTON — Norma Leigh Leonard, 56, of Biesecker Road, died Monday, February 24, 2014, at her home. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Davidson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.

Peggy Cranford McDaniel
TRINITY — Peggy Joyce Cranford McDaniel, 73, of Trinity, passed away on February 24, 2014, at the home after a five year fight with Multiple Myeloma cancer. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 27 from 1- 2 p.m. at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with Linda Suggs officiating and interment following at Oakwood Memorial Park Cemetery. Peggy was born in High Point to Charlie and Edith Cranford on October 30, 1940. She married Bobby McDaniel on April 14, 1956. She worked as a case fitter for Myrtle Desk and Dar-Ran. She loved Elvis, the beach, her family, talk shows and her little dog Tiny. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Edith Cranford, husband Bobby McDaniel, son Roger “Bunny” McDaniel and great-granddaughter Lily Grace Medlin.
Peggy is survived by children Kenneth “Mousey” McDaniel of Trinity, Betty Ross (Clinton Smith) of Trinity and Lavern Ballard (Ken) of Hilton Head, S.C.; siblings Sarah Lovett (Jackie) of High Point, Roger Cranford of High Point, Mary King (Gene) of Reidsville and Patsy Greene of Tenn.; grandchildren Crystal McDaniel Hall (Eric Arnold) of Thomasville, Penny Ross Medlin (Brian) of Sophia, Jodie Lefler (David Wenhart) of Trinity, Logan and Zach Ballard of Hilton Head, S.C.; great-grandchildren Emily and Coby Hall of Thomasville, and Cynthea and Chance Medlin of Sophia. The family of Peggy wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Huff, the Hayworth Cancer Center and Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cancer Society. James Montgomery
HIGH POINT — James Franklin Montgomery went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 21, 2014, from High Point Regional Hospital. Born 1958 in Los Angeles, California. James is survived by his wife, son, mother, many family members and friends. A service to celebrate James’ life will be held Friday, February 28, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Smith Grove Baptist Church in Colfax with Reverend Dr. Charles Peters officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will see friends following the service at the home. HIGH POINT — Mr. Fred Alvin Murrow, 71, resident of High Point, was welcomed into his heavenly home on February 23, 2014. John Patseavouras
HIGH POINT — John George Patseavouras, 83, of High Point passed away Monday, February 24, 2014. John was born in Rocky Mount to the late George Patseavouras and Bessie Wilson Patseavouras on March 3, 1930. John graduated in December of 1952 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, “GO TARHEELS” where he was a member of the Chi Phi Fraternity, The Monogram Club and Manager of the UNC Chapel Hill Varsity Basketball team for 3 years. After college, he entered the Army where upon review of his exemplary testing he was asked to serve in the Counter Intelligence Corps. Afterwards he worked Credit Life Insurance.
Subsequently, John was appointed by Governor Jim Holshouser to serve as Director of Adult Probation and Parole. He later returned as Director of Adult Probation and Parole under Governor Jim Martin and retiring as Director of Prisons. Upon his retirement from the State, he returned to High Point to be near his children and grandchildren. After a few months of retirement he chose to continue giving service to mankind by volunteering at the High Point Regional Hospital and later became a volunteer with the American Red Cross specializing in assessing damages in national disasters one of which was 9/11. John was a life long member of Emerywood Baptist Church as well as an avid fisherman and water skiing teacher for his daughters and grandchildren at Badin Lake.
John is survived by his wife, Judy Huggins Patseavouras; daughters, Karen Patseavouras, Kathryn Patseavouras Giles and her husband Stephen, Kristina Patseavouras Andrews, all of High Point; brother, Dr. Louie L. Patseavouras and Sandy of Greensboro; and sister Pauline Vick of Nashville, N.C. and his brother the late George Patseavouras; six grandchildren: Jonathan Elleman, Daniel Patseavouras, Kathryn and Noel Andrews, Caroline and Lauren Giles. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 27 at 11 a.m. at Emerywood Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Ferguson officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross  at 815 Phillips Avenue, High Point, N.C. 27262 or Emerywood Baptisit Church at 1300 Country Club Drive, High Point, N.C. 27262. Fred Surrett Sr.
HIGH POINT — Mr. Fred Clinton Surrett Sr., 92, passed away Monday, February 24, 2014, at the Hospice Home at High Point. He was the loving husband of the late, Peggy (Causey) Surrett. Mr. Surrett was born on May 19, 1921, in Gaston County, a son of the late James E. and Hester (Davis) Surrett. He was a graduate of High Point High School and later joined the U.S. Army Air Force serving his country during WWII. He retired from Alma Desk after 23 years of service, working his way up to the role of supervisor. Mr. Surrett was of the Methodist faith. He was a former member of the V.F.W. and the Oak Hallow Lions Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking.
Mr. Surrett is survived by two sons, Rick Surrett of High Point and R. Scott Surrett Sr. and his wife, Nancy of Colfax; three grandsons, Ben Surrett, R. Scott Surrett, Jr. and Kevin Surrett; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Evelyn Richardson, Jacqueline Hale and E. C. “Betty” Klass.
A celebration of life service will be 2 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2014, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service with Chaplin Craig S. Walker officiating. A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the request of the family. LEXINGTON — Lowell Craig Varner, age 54 of Arbor Drive, Lexington, passed away Tuesday morning at Hinkle Hospice House. A celebration of life service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Meadowview Reformed Presbyterian Church. Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington is assisting the family.

Ricky Bryan Williams
GREENSBORO — Ricky Bryan Williams, 51, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2014, at Duke University Medical Center. Ricky was born on August 18, 1962, in High Point, the son of Gerald “Jerry” and Virginia “Jenny” Goodman Williams. He graduated from Trinity High School in 1980. Ricky was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his sister, Tammy Hill and husband McCoy of Walnut Cove, N.C.; aunts, Judy Pierce of Thomasville and Georgia Osborne of Sparta and numerous cousins and a wide group of loving friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel and a Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday,  2 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
