Wesley Everett Chory
HIGH POINT — Wesley Everett Chory, 85, died February 21, after a brief illness.
Wesley was born August 24, 1928, a son of F. Everett and Bannah Becknell Chory. Wesley made Elizabeth City his home for most of his life, but has resided in High Point for the last 22 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Wirth, a sister, Ann and a brother-in-law, William G. Hart, Jr.
Surviving is one sister, Jane Chory Hart, three nieces, one nephew, one great-niece and two great-nephews.
Interment will take place at the family plot in Elizabeth City. “To everything there is season”… “a time to Live and a time to Die.” Wesley was loved.
Many thanks to the doctors and staff of High Point Regional Hospital and to Hospice of the Piedmont for their compassionate care. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donors’ choice. Davis Funerals and Cremations is assisting the family.
Harriette Renee Gray
HIGH POINT — Ms. Harriette Renee Gray, known as “Renee” or “Blue” to her family and friends, was called home to heaven on February 20, 2014, at the Hayworth Cancer Center surrounded by love.
She was born to Harry L. Gray Sr. and the late Emma Lee Moore in High Point, N.C. Renee Graduated from T.W. Andrews High School in 1979. After completing high school, she attended Brookstone College and received a degree in fashion merchandise, business administration and a minor in accounting. She served in the U.S. Army and worked at GSO-NDC as a mail handler.
She was a faithful member of Solid Rock Baptist Church and Piedmont Elks Temple #229. Renee enjoyed reading, doing puzzles and spending time on Facebook.
She was preceded in death by her mother Emma L. Moore, Donald O. Armstrong (her companion), maternal grandparents (that had her spoiled), paternal grandparents and her sister Phyllis D. Fair.
Left in the sunshine of life to cherish her memories are: Cortney Gray, Brent Gray and I’Sean Macer, of the home, Harry L. Gray Sr. (Becky) of Durham, N.C., Harry L. Gray Jr. (Maggie) of High Point, N.C., Anita Cunningham and Truly Gray, both of High Point, N.C., Ricky Gray (Leigh Anne) of Bardtown, Ky., Brittany Jenkins of Jonesboro, Ga., LaDonna J. Lucas (Richard), Lachiesha J. Wilson (Clay), Kelvin Short (Tonya), Kelly Ferree, all of High Point, N.C., aunt Yvonne Moore of Concord, N.C., the Armstrong family, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ollie Belle (Moser) Allen
HIGH POINT- Mrs. Ollie Belle (Moser) Allen, 96, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014, at High Point Place. She was the loving wife of the late Harvey Clark Allen.
Mrs. Allen was born on March 24, 1917, in Davidson County a daughter of the late Thomas Settle and Sofia Lillian (Hilton) Moser. She was a wonderful caregiver her entire life, and cherished the moments caring for her family and church.
She was a member of High Point Friends Meeting where she spent over 45 years attending to their nursery. She was also a member of the Alice Page White Sunday school class.
Mrs. Allen is survived by two sons, Thomas C. Allen and his wife, Page of Pocatello, Idaho, and James H. Allen and his wife, Betty of High Point; a daughter, Susan A. Watson and her husband, Jerry of High Point; seven grandchildren, Clark Allen, Julie Melton, Lori Hart, Brian Allen, Melanie Carroll, Adrian Watson, and Elizabeth Scott Strout; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lillian Canada of Burlington; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Moser.
A celebration of life service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at High Point Friends Meeting, 800 Quaker Lane, High Point with Kelly Kellum officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park. A visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

HIGH POINT — Fred A. Murrow, 71, of High Point died Sunday at the Hospice Home at High Point. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point.
LEXINGTON — Abigail Marie Hedrick failed to survive birth on February 20, 2014. A private graveside service.
