RANDLEMAN — Norma Jean Swaney Carter, 74, of Randleman, died Saturday, June 29, 2013.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mary Elizabeth Phillips Causey
TRINITY — Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Phillips Causey, 67, a resident of Eagle Point Drive, died Saturday morning, June 29, 2013, at her home. She was born on May 30, 1946, in Guilford County, N.C., a daughter of Helen Stanley Phillips. She was an accountant with Alan Ferguson Associates in High Point and a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Phillips.
Surviving are two daughters, Robin Traynham and husband Alan of Thomasville and Melanie Causey of the home; son, Robert Causey of Sophia; the children’s father and their step-mother, Larry Causey and Kathy Causey of Trinity; sister, Phyllis Durham and husband Kenneth of Roxboro, N.C.; sister-in-law, Libby Phillips of Pleasant Garden, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Christopher Causey, Brittany Causey, Catelyn Stevens, Samantha Lambert, Brandon Coble, Haley Hughes and Joey Traynham; and five great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 1, 2013, at noon at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Mrs. Diane Nance and the Rev. Kenneth Durham officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday prior to the service at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. and at other times at the home. Bettye Steele Curtis
HIGH POINT — Mrs. Bettye Steele Curtis of 831 Skeet Club Road , passed Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at High Point Regional Hospital.
She was born in Albemarle, N.C., on Feb. 23, 1939, to her parents Benjamin Steele and Bernice Steele. She was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant of High Point Care Center, now known as Heritage Healthcare. Mrs. Curtis was a graduate of William Penn High School Class of 1957 and was married for 53 years and attended church at First Emmanuel Baptist Church, Foster Gove Baptist Church and Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Mrs. Curtis was preceded in death by one son Robert Curtis and her parents Benjamin Steele and Bernice Steele; also her second mother and great-aunt Jenny Rush; one sister Celeste McRae; three brothers Tommy
Lee Steele, Rupert Steele and Kenneth Steele; one niece Brandy Turner; and one nephew Torrence Steele.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband the Rev. B. D. Curtis; two daughters, Ms. Kimberly Curtis of the home, Robin Curtis of Kannapolis, N.C.; one son Ricky Curtis of Greensboro; three sisters, Evelyn Steele (Velvet) LeGrande of High Point, Gail
Steele of Greensboro, and Mackie Steele of High Point; three brothers, June Martin of Norman, N.C., Chester (Annie) McLendon and Bennie (Yolanda) Steele of Atlanta, Ga.; two grandchildren, Byron Miller and Jamall Mliler; two uncles, Edward Steele and Fred Steele; and one aunt, Viola Steele; a host of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law in the Curtis family; and a host of cousins, nieces,
nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Public Viewing will be Sunday, June 30, 2013, at Foster Grove Baptist Church 3-5 p.m. Home Going Celebration will be held on Monday, July 1, 2013, at 12:30 p.m. at Foster Grove Baptist Church in Jamestown, N.C. Family will receive friends on Monday
at the church noon-12:30 p.m. The officiating minister will be Pastor James Harris Jr. and the Eulogist will be Pastor Cardes H. Brown.

Scott Edward Dupree
THOMASVILLE — Mr. Scott Edward Dupree, 55, a resident of Thomasville, died Thursday afternoon, June 27, 2013, at High Point Regional Cancer Center. He was born Feb. 15, 1958, in Summit, N.J., a son of the late Curt Dupree and Barbara Jean Hellman Dupree.
Scott was owner and operator of Bren 1 Record Clamp.com., and SCC Services. Surviving are his daughter, Taylor Dupree and her mother, Lynne Dupree of High Point; sisters, Valerie Luedtke and husband Scott of Hanahan, S.C., and Sarah Millsap and husband Jack of Fortuna, Calif.; a brother, Todd Dupree and wife Machelle of High Point; and several nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family request any memorial contributions be directed to the High Point Cancer Center, P.O. Box HP-5, High Point, N.C. 27261.

Betty Lee McDaniel
THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Betty Lee McDaniel, 77, a resident of Thomasville, N.C., passed away on Friday, June 28, 2013.
Betty was born on Aug. 27, 1935, in Davidson County a daughter of the late Harley Everette Lee and Velna Proctor Lee. She had made this area her home all of her life. Betty was a former employee of Thomasville Furniture Industries and was a member of Oak Hill Memorial Baptist Church. Betty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. On April 27, 1956, she married Bobby Gene McDaniel, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are her daughters, Deborah McDaniel Castro and husband Joel of Cameron, N.C., Tammy McDaniel Grubb of Thomasville; sons, Mark Lee McDaniel and Tim D. McDaniel and wife Rose all of Thomasville; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Oak Hill Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary Myers officiating. Interment will follow in the Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Betty will remain at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Jacob Adam Robinette
THOMASVILLE — Infant Jacob Adam Robinette, two-day-old son of Tyler Adam Robinette and Daisy Lynn Brooks, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
Surviving in addition to his parents are paternal grandfather Gary Robinette and maternal grandmother Susie Robinette, both of Thomasville; maternal grandfather Joseph Brooks Sr. and maternal grandmother Regina Brooks, both of Thomasville; maternal great-grandmother Mary Freeman of Thomasville; paternal great-grandmother Phyllis Cockerham of Thomasville; uncles Chase Robinette, Matthew Robinette and Joseph Brooks Jr., all of Thomasville; aunt Ashley Morrow of Thomasville; and special family member Teresa Adams of Thomasville.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 1, 2013, at 2 p.m. at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with the Rev. Gary Robinette and the Rev. Roger Watts officiating. Beverly Ann (Chambers) Trivette
HIGH POINT — Mrs. Beverly Ann (Chambers) Trivette, 65, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013, at the Hospice Home at High Point with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of David Lee Trivette Sr. to whom she was married to for 47 years.
Mrs. Trivette was born on April 17, 1948, in Sevierville, Tenn., a daughter of the late George and Olwen (Hilliard) Chambers. She was a 1966 graduate of Allen Jay High School and shortly after married her sweetheart on June 24, 1966, and graduated from Davidson Community College. During her children’s younger years, she worked for the Randolph County School System as a teacher’s assistant, cafeteria worker and a bus driver. She then went to work for Phil Dixon as his office manager, later working for Dar-Ran Furniture for eight years and finally for Brayton International for 10 years.
She had been a member of Carolina Memorial Baptist Church, Thomasville, since 2000.
In her spare time, she enjoyed tending to her flower garden, cooking, taking care of her grandchildren, and supporting her husband, Danny.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Danny Lee Trivette Jr. and his wife, Kimberly of Kernersville; two grandchildren, James and Casey Trivette, both of Kernersville; two sisters, Lorna Ward and her husband, Darrell of Trinity, and Doreen Hoffman of High Point; several nieces and nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Renea Trivette.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2013, at Carolina Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Bynum Orr officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 11:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the church.

Geraldine Lee “Boots” Williams
ARCHDALE — Geraldine Lee “Boots” Williams, 88, of Archdale died Friday in Asheboro. Born May 7, 1925, in High Point she is a daughter of the late James A. Lee and Jennie Boswell Lee. Mrs. Williams worked in the floral business in Archdale for over 55 years. She was a member of Archdale United Methodist Church, where she was very active when able and she sang in the choir. Mrs. Williams enjoyed traveling with her sister Margaret and when her children were younger she was very active in the schools. In addition to her parents Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Sahnow, and brother, Roger Lee.
She is survived by two sons, Greg Williams and wife Angela of Mocksville, Gary Williams of Raleigh; and four grandchildren, Whitney Williams, Gina Williams, Bret Williams and Aaron Williams. She is also survived by a nieces Geraldine Bowen and Susan Zachary and nephews, Jim Lee and Tom Lee.
Funeral services for Mrs. Williams will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Archdale United Methodist with the Rev. Harold Shives officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale.
