Steve Ash
HIGH POINT — Steven Robert Ash was born in Jackson, Mich. and passed away in Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem on March 1, 2014. Steve is preceded in death by his parents Robert Leroy Ash and Betty Jane Fessenden Ash. His journey of 63 years led him to live in Florida for 43 years where he worked as a manager for Winn Dixie and as owner of B & B Aluminum. Later in life he moved to Winston-Salem where he owned Reliable Finishing in High Point. He served his country in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves from 1970-1976. An avid outdoorsman he always enjoyed the chance to go hunting and fishing. He even had the opportunity and pleasure of being a semi-professional fisherman. Steve was always a man willing to tell a great story and he never met a stranger in his life. His hard work, dependability, joy of a good time and willingness to help anyone at any time made him the friend of everyone. After battling cancer for 6 years Steve’s journey finally came to an end. 
He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Eva M. Ash, sons; Robert Ash and wife Casey of Winston-Salem, Jason Adam Ash and  wife Treva of Fernley Nevada, brothers; Gary Ash and wife Gigi of Greensboro, David Ash and wife Linda of High Point, grandchildren; Robert Shipp, Heather, Adam and Samantha Ash. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday March 8, 2014, at Cumby Family Funeral Service Chapel in High Point with Reverend Bynum Orr as celebrant. Charles Beauchamp
HIGH POINT — Mr. Charles F. Beauchamp, 85, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at High Point Regional Hospital. He was born on August 25, 1928, a son of Charles F. Beauchamp, Sr. and Lorean Sturms Beauchamp. He had been a resident of High Point all of his life. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 32 years and Beeson Hardware Co. for 16 years. Mr. Beauchamp was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served during the Korean War. He was a member of Green Street Baptist Church, Marvin Maynard’s Sunday school class and served as a Deacon, usher and greeter. He was also a member of Twilight Civitan Club and National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
On December 25, 1949, he married Doris Rogers Beauchamp who survives of the home. Also surviving are one son, Gary Alan and wife Gail of Salisbury, Maryland; one grandson, Ross Beauchamp; one granddaughter, Christiana Beauchamp; a brother-in-law, Sam Sheffield and a sister-in-law, Eunice Beauchamp. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Genevieve Sheffield and brother, Marion Eugene Beauchamp. Mr. Beauchamp enjoyed oil painting at the Roy Culler Center, being with his church friends, seeing his friends while walking at the mall and playing golf in his earlier years. He looked forward to visiting his grandchildren every chance he could.
A service to celebrate the life of Charles Beauchamp will be held 3 p.m., Saturday, March 8, 2014, at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, 1015 Eastchester Drive, High Point,  with the Reverend Phillip Rhynerson officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service. W. B. Delk Jr.
HIGH POINT — Mr. W. B.  Delk, Jr., 81, resident of High Point and Lake Tillery, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday evening. Mr. Delk was born March 16, 1932, in Guilford County, a son of William B. and Ora Chriscoe Delk Sr. He had been a resident of this area all of his life and was retired President of Southland Supply. Mr. Delk was a graduate of Jamestown High School and his favorite past time was traveling in his motor home. He was a charter member of Montlieu Ave. United Methodist Church.
In 1953 he was married to Patricia Surrett who survives of the home. Also surviving are one son; William Bert Delk and wife Theresa of Summerfield, one sister Mrs. Betty Weekly of Jamestown. Mr. Delk was preceded in death by two sisters Topsy Delk and Leota Cline. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service on Eastchester Drive by the Reverend Jeff Patterson. Janie Johnson
HIGH POINT — Mrs. Janie Mae Johnson exchanged time for eternity on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Westchester Manor. She was born on March 2, 1920, in Richland, Ga. Janie was the last surviving child born to John Shipp and Lizzie Hall Shipp. She was preceded in death by her husband Willie B. Johnson. Janie is survived by her daughter Mrs. Willie Mae Ingram of High Point, four grandchildren, Ms. Sara Mingo of Alexandria, Va., Mr. Cecil (Jackie) Johnson of Jamestown, Mr. William Johnson and Ms. Davida Johnson both of High Point, eight great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014, at 1 p.m. at First Emmanuel Baptist Church, 831 Leonard Ave. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens, Jamestown. HIGH POINT — Mr. James C. Lindsay, 53, of High Point passed on March 4, 2014, at High Point Regional Hospital. Funeral Arrangements are in the care of People’s Funeral & Cremation Service Inc.

Doyle McMahan Jr.
TRINITY — Mr. Doyle Dwight McMahan Jr., age 80, a resident of Trinity went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 4, 2014. He was born on April 13, 1933, in Forsyth County, to the late Doyle Dwight McMahan and Lanner Mashburn McMahan and had been a resident of High Point/ Trinity area most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during the Korean conflict. He worked as a meat cutter for many years, having worked last at Kroger, until his retirement. After retirement he continued to work part time at Wal-Mart and Trindale Foods.  Doyle was a member of Trindale Baptist Church where he was a member of the Senior Adults and he also was a member of Gideon’s International. 
He enjoyed fishing, reading, working in his yard and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. On August 6, 1952, he was married to Sarrah Wilde, she survives of the home. He is also survived by his children, Steve McMahan and his wife Teresa of High Point, Sharon Johnson and her husband Jerry of King, Dwight McMahan and his wife Cindy, Larry McMahan and his wife Sandra and Jon McMahan and his wife Lisa all of Thomasville, Donna LeBeau and her husband Rick of Trinity, his siblings; Elizabeth Haynes of Asheboro, Don McMahan and his wife Delores of High Point, Delores Hicks of S.C., Jimmy McMahan and his wife Joyce of Sophia, Ron McMahan and his wife Kathy of Archdale and Geraldine Jordan of Asheboro. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Doyle’s life will be Friday, March 7, at 11 a.m. at Trindale Baptist Church with Pastor Tony Moore officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the home. THOMASVILLE — Ronnie Wayne Russell, 66, of Thomasville died Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Russell was born December 11, 1947, in Forsyth County to Roy Russell and Peggy Hightower Russell. He was employed with the Lilly Company prior to retirement. Surviving are his loving wife Judy Everhart Russell of the home, daughter Rhonda Michelle Russell, his parents Roy and Peggy Russell and a brother Steve Russell and wife Mary all of Thomasville and his two best friends Chico and Chocolate. THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Betty Jane Oliver Souders, 69, a resident of Old US Highway 29, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at her home. She was born on April 29, 1944, in Jefferson County, Louisville, K.Y. to Hollis Laymen Oliver and Ruth Bauer Oliver. She retired in 2002 from Lorillard Tobacco Company and attended First United Methodist Church in Thomasville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Oliver. Surviving are her son, Jerry Lee Newsome of the home; daughters, Debra “Debbie” Young and husband Philip and Patricia “Patty” Ann Hughes, all of Thomasville; six grandchildren, Stephen Philip Young, Amber Nicole Young, Tara Nichelle Hughes, Ryan Scott Hughes, Stephanie Leigh Hardin and Edna Nichole Newsome and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014, at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Cris Uren officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Judith Traynham
HIGH POINT — Judith Traynham, 66, of High Point, went to eternal rest on Friday, February 28, 2014, at Hospice of the Piedmont. She was surrounded by family members after a long struggle with cancer. Judith was born April 29, 1947, in Charlotte to Helen and Grayson Davis. She was a graduate of Garinger High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she studied Art History. Family meant the world to Judith. She enjoyed having them over for dinners as she loved to cook, taking walks with her grandchildren down to the creek and enjoying special moments with her husband.
Judith was an avid reader, enjoyed planting and gardening and working on crossword puzzles. Judith is survived by her husband of 19 years, David Anthony Traynham and her oldest son James Bryan McMillan III, his wife Linda and their sons Mason and Owen; her youngest son Adam Yeats McMillan, his wife Jennifer and their daughter Abigail. Judith’s memorial service was held on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Salem Funeral Home.
