A woman walking with two members of her family was killed along a rural highway in Davidson County Friday evening.
The State Highway Patrol reports that 37-year-old Jackie Harrison was struck by a car about 6:30 p.m. on Old U.S. Highway 64 East. The accident happened about 7.5 miles south of Thomasville in the Silver Valley community, where Harrison lived.
Harrison was struck by a 2009 Infiniti sedan, said Highway Patrol Trooper M.A. Leonard. Harrison was walking with her mother and cousin when the accident happened, the trooper told The High Point Enterprise.
Charges have not been filed. Leonard said Saturday that he would consult with the Davidson County District Attorney’s Office this week before a final decision on charges is made.
