Tickets for annual Taste of the Town go on sale Monday

On Aug. 20, 44 food and drink choices will be under one roof.

Tickets will be available Monday for Hospice of the Piedmont’s annual Taste of the Town. This year’s event will be “Celebrating 25 Years of Tastes.”
The event lets attendees stroll between local restaurants, caterers and beverage vendors, sampling many kinds of food at once.
In addition to food and drink, the event features a disc jockey and a silent auction. Items up for bid include gift baskets, furniture and golf outings.
Entry tickets can be bought at any High Point Bank location.
Each entry ticket is $10 and includes three food tickets. Additional food tickets are $1 each. Entry is free for children under 6.
Tickets shouldn’t sell out because of the large venue, said Mary Leslie English, the marketing associate with Hospice. She encouraged buying early, though, in order to avoid waiting in line.
The event benefits Hospice of the Piedmont, a nonprofit that works to provide care for patients with life-limiting illnesses and grief support for loved ones.
English said she is glad for the support that generated the event’s longevity.
“We have almost 200 volunteers help us, so I think that speaks to the importance of the event also,” she said.
