UPDATE: Boy shot released from hospital

UPDATED 7:40 p.m. Saturday

A 10-year-old boy who was shot in his community in southwestern Davidson County Friday afternoon has been released from an area hospital.
A nursing supervisor at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center told The High Point Enterprise Saturday that Zack Reno was discharged from the medical center.
The boy was wounded in an incident on Clark Road west of Linwood about 4 p.m. Friday. The Linwood community is southwest of Lexington.
The child was accompanied by another adult when the shooting happened, Sheriff David Grice said. Grice termed the shooting accidental, according to WXII-TV, news partners with the Enterprise.
Authorities are looking into whether the bullet that grazed the boy may have been fired from some distance.

 

 

Davidson County Sheriff’s are investigating a shooting that left a 10-year-old injured Friday afternoon in Davidson County.
The incident happened on Clark Road west of Linwood.
The boy was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for treatment of serious but not life-threatening injuries.
