HPU hosts holiday choirs

High Point University will host  two nights of holiday celebration from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on  Wednesday and Thursday.
The event is free and open to the public.
Guests can see the holiday lights on the Kester International Promenade while enjoying Christmas music sung by community choirs, hot chocolate, cookies and visits with Santa, who will offer a gift to every child.
“It’s a wonderful time for us all to come together,” said Don Scarborough, HPU vice president for community relations.
Christmas celebrations started Nov. 30 with a holiday concert.  Community choirs will sing in Hayworth Chapel this week.
Wednesday
• 5 to 5:30 p.m. — Christ United Methodist Church, Joyful Sounds band
• 5:30 to 6 p.m. — Penn-Griffin School for the Arts Choir
• 6 to 7 p.m. — Wheatmore High School
• 7 to 7:30 p.m. — HPU student pianists
• 7:30 to 8 p.m. — New Beginnings Full Gospel Ministries
• 8 to 8:30 p.m. — HPU student pianists
Thursday
• 5:30 to 6 p.m. — Northwood Elementary School Notables
• 6 to 6:45 p.m. — Christ United Methodist Church, Joyful Sounds band
• 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. — HPU student pianists
• 7:30 to 8 p.m. — New Beginnings Full Gospel Ministries
• 8 to 8:30 p.m. — Greenwood Hills Wesleyan Church
