Hudson holds town hall Tuesday

U.S. Rep. Richard Hudson, R-8th, will hold a town hall from 3-4 p.m. Tuesday at the Piedmont Crossing Retirement Community.
The town hall, which is open to the general public, will be in the Veranda building of the retirement community at 100 Hedrick Drive. The Veranda building is on Shuler Circle.
Hudson, a freshman congressman, is scheduled to speak, answer questions and hear from constituents, said longtime Republican Party activist Dwight Story, who lives at Piedmont Crossing.
Hudson defeated former Democratic congressman Larry Kissell in last year’s general election. The 8th District was redrawn to now include parts of Davidson County.
Meanwhile, the chief of staff for Rep. Howard Coble, R-6th, said the congressman is recovering from dermatology surgery that Coble underwent last week. The surgery cut short Coble’s activities during this month’s congressional recess.
Coble is expected to fully recover by the time the U.S. House of Representatives reconvenes following the Labor Day holiday week, said Chief of Staff Ed McDonald.
Coble cancelled three days of activities in his district last week because of the surgery. Coble has had a series of dermatology medical procedures over the years to address lesions on his face.
