Police: Mother of four last seen alive leaving work
A High Point mother of four found dead in a ditch was last seen alive at her job on Wednesday evening, police said.
Joyce Price Eaton, 45, left work at 8:45 p.m. in her white 2007 BMW, said Lt. B.W. Hall of the Guilford County Sheriff’s Department. She worked at Verizon Wireless in the Alamance Crossing Shopping Center in Burlington.
Eaton was found shot and stabbed just 10 minutes away in a ditch off AT&T Drive in McLeansville the next morning. Her car is still missing, according to police.
No one noticed anything different in her behavior at work, Hall said, and nothing appeared to be amiss.
Family members reported her missing on Friday morning to High Point Police.
“The report went to Burlington when they found out that was the last time she was seen,” he said.
Eaton lived alone with her four children, according to the sheriff’s office. She may have been married, Sheriff BJ Barnes said, “but they were not actively together.”
Her death is still under investigation and police do not yet have a suspect.
“We’re following up on some leads,” Sheriff Barnes said. “We’re hopeful that we’ll be able to come to some answers.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 641-3355 or Crimestoppers of Guilford County at 373-1000.
