MLK parade draws crowd
Despite the snow left on the ground, the weather was warm and sunny enough for crowds to attend the 12th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade in downtown High Point.
Hundreds lined Green Drive, from Brentwood Street past College Drive, and watched numerous churches, bands, businesses and civic organizations perform and march down the street in honor of King and his legacy.
The parade, hosted by the Carl Chavis YMCA, is designed to give the community a chance to unite while honoring the life and work of King.
