A Randolph County man faces child pornography possession charges following a sheriff’s office investigation.
Deputies served a search warrant at 2841 Brookdale Road, Asheboro on Dec. 20 and seized computer equipment for forensic examination. Numerous videos depicting child pornography involving children from ages 5 to 16 years old engaged in sexual activity were located on a computer, which deputies said belongs to James Michael Kirkman of the residence.
Kirkman, 28, was charged with 42 counts of second-degree exploitation of a minor and was jailed under a $1 million bond, deputies said. The case was investigated by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The investigation was said to be ongoing and further charges are pending.
