Councilwoman has first court appearance
Trinity Councilwoman Debbie Frazier has been assigned a Jan. 8 court date on charges alleging she stole another council member’s political sign.
Judge James P. Hill assigned the court date for Frazier who was not present at the Randolph County courthouse Monday.
Frazier faces charges of misdemeanor larceny, possession of stolen property, and stealing political signs.
Frazier called the charges frivolous. Police arrested her Oct. 31 for allegedly taking one of Barry Lambeth’s political signs from 5323 Surratt Drive in Archdale. She was taken before Magistrate Richard Small and released on an unsecured bond of $2,500.
According to the warrant, the offense happened on Oct. 12 in front of Builder’s Fireplace and Supply.
Frazier, 57, represents Ward 1 on the council and was not up for re-election this year.
Frazier could not be reached Monday.
