Here's a list of 4th of July fireworks shows around here

The Greater High Point Area has tons of options to view professional fireworks. You can also jump on inflatables, listen to beach music or celebrate Independence Day in just about any way you want.

Archdale: Fun Fourth

   Where: Creekside Park, on Park Drive off of S. Main St.

   Schedule: Rides start at 2 p.m., Vendors open at 3 p.m., Southern Drive plays at 4:30 p.m., Part Time Party Band plays at 7 p.m.

   Fireworks: Around 9 p.m.

   Highlights: In Archdale, you can ride a Ferris wheel, gobble down a funnel cake or shag to some beach music. Parking, music and fireworks show by Zambelli International are all free.


High Point: Uncle Sam Jam

   Where: Oak Hollow Festival Park, 1841 Eastchester Drive

   Schedule: Gates open at 4:30 p.m., Rough Draft performs at 5 p.m., Parmalee at 7:30 p.m. Activities for kids throughout

   Cost: $10 parking for each car

   Fireworks: 9:45 p.m.

   Highlights: In addition to typical July 4th concessions, High Point’s event will offer wraps and crepes. There will also be a rock climbing wall, inflatables and children’s crafts courtesy of the Scrap Exchange of Durham.


Jamestown: Parade and After Party

   Where: Starts in front of Jamestown Town Hall, 301 East Main St.

   Schedule: Parade is at 10 a.m. After Parade Party on the library lawn when parade ends, around noon

   Highlights: During the parade, sponsored by the Lions’ Club of Jamestown, look out for floats, Uncle Sam and antique cars. The After Party, sponsored by the Jamestown Business Association, includes inflatables, balloon art and cotton candy.


Lexington: Fantastic Fourth

   Where: Finch Park, 15 Paul Beck Road

   Schedule: 6 p.m. music, rides, inflatables

   Fireworks: Begin between 9 and 9:30 p.m.

   Highlights: The mayor will issue a proclamation and Allison Crowell will sing the National Anthem in the opening ceremony. Afterward, grab a snow cone or some nachos and listen to the High Rock Players perform crowd favorites.


Lexington (July 5th): High Rock Lake fireworks

   Where: Top of the Rock, 339 N Shore Dr.

   Schedule: Music by Darrell Hardwood at dusk

   Fireworks: Around 9:30 p.m. Best view from Highway 8 bridges

   Highlights: This $8,000 fireworks show is funded by private donations. For safety reasons, Top of the Rock will close before the fireworks start launching, but there are plenty of good vantage points around the lake.


Thomasville: HiToms’ Fireworks Extravaganza

   Where: Finch Field, 7003 Ballpark Road

   Schedule: HiToms game, $7 admission includes fireworks

   Fireworks: After game ends

   Highlights: Players will enter through a tunnel with 20 American flags in this red-out game — attendees are asked to all wear red. Kids can play in bounce houses inside the stadium. Stick around after the game is over for a fireworks show sponsored by Comfort Tech.
