Man arrested for abandoning newborn he fathered with 13-year-old
A Greensboro man has been arrested after abandoning his newborn daughter under the stairwell of an apartment complex on McKnight Mill Road in 1999.
Michael Cain Wilson, of Yanceyville Street, is charged with seven counts first-degree rape of a child, three counts of first-degree statutory rape of a child 13 to 15 years of age, six counts of sex offense by a substitute parent and 10 counts of indecent liberties with a child.
Wilson is believed to have sexually abused a child from 1991 through 2003, in multiple locations throughout Guilford County, according to the Guilford County Sheriff’s office. He also is facing charges of child abuse inflicting serious physical injury and child abandonment.
According to deputies, evidence and Wilson’s statement shows he delivered the baby at his home and abandoned it to hide the sexual abuse of the mother, who was 13 years old at the time. He currently is being held in the Greensboro jail under a $1.7 million bond.
Deputies also arrested Wilson’s wife, Antoinette Rochelle Wilson, and charged her with aiding and abetting the first-degree rape of a child, three counts of aiding and abetting the first-degree statutory rape of a child 13-15 years of age, four counts of aiding and abetting the indecent liberties with a child, and six counts of aiding and abetting sex offense by a substitute parent. She is being held in the Greensboro Jail under a $350,000 bond.
