Insurance agent arrested on charges of fraud
A Thomasville woman was arrested after investigators with the Department of Insurance allege she submitted fraudulent insurance claims for family members without their knowledge.
Corinne Elizabeth Sylvester, 30, of 1188 Noahtown Road in Thomasville, was arrested on Thursday.
Investigators allege that Sylvester received about $974.77 in unearned commissions by submitting fraudulent and unsanctioned insurance applications in June 2010, while working as an insurance agent for AFLAC Insurance Company.
Sylvester is charged with one felony count of obtaining property by false pretense and has been released on a $500 secured bond.
Davidson County Sheriff’s assisted in the arrest.
