Man dies while trying to repair truck
A Lexington man died when the tractor-trailer he was working on collapsed on top of him.
Paul Peterson, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene on Monday after a 2004 Freightliner tractor fell on top of him while he was trying to repair it.
According to a press release from the Thomasville Police Department, an emergency team responded to JRJ Trucking, 435 Commercial Park Drive. A preliminary investigation showed that Peterson was working on the truck when it slipped off a jack.
“The Department of Labor was called in and they are doing an investigation as well,” said detective Brad Saintsing.
A woman who answered the phone at JRJ Trucking LLC Tuesday said the company did not want to comment.
