HPU was on spring break last week."As our students return to campus today from spring break, we are saddened to report that freshman Tyler Bowman died Saturday, March 9th after a four wheeling accident near his home in Cherokee, NC. Tyler was an extraordinary student and compassionate friend. As we talk to many who knew Tyler, it's clear he was planting seeds of greatness at every turn. Please keep Tyler's family in your thoughts and prayers and know that the university has extended our resources to support the Bowman family during this difficult time," HPU President Nido Qubein said in a message distributed throughout campus.
The Office of Student Life will be planning a service to honor Bowman in the coming days. Also the HPU Counseling Center is open for students who may need support.
"We will miss Tyler. But Tyler's legacy will forever remain on the HPU campus and in the hearts and minds of all those he touched," Qubein said.
