A High Point resident was shot on Saturday during a home invasion on Westchester Drive.

High Point police Capt. Mike Kirk said that four people came through the back door at a home on the 2000 block of Westchester Dr. and held the residents at gunpoint.

There were seven people in the house at the time, three of them children.

"They did steal some money and other stuff from the house," Kirk said.

A resident was shot in the buttocks and was transported to High Point Regional UNC Healthcare before being transferred to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.

His injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.
