A Thomasville woman was charged with driving while impaired and hit and run after allegedly crashing a pickup truck into the side of a building and then fleeing the scene.
Chasity Bradshaw, 20, was driving a Chevrolet truck north on N. Main Street about 10 a.m. when it veered across two lanes of traffic, ran over a fence and struck the side of 711 N. Main St., according to High Point police.
Bradshaw ran from the scene and was apprehended a few blocks away on Steele Street near Oakwood Cemetery. No other vehicles or pedestrians were involved. She was taken to High Point Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators said they believe the crash was drug-related.
The building is vacant and was last occupied by Calico Collection Antiques. The crash apparently caused no damage to the outside of the building but an interior wall was damaged.
