Thomasville couple charged with child abuse
Davidson County Sheriff deputies have charged a Thomasville couple with child abuse after drugs were found in reach at the home they share with their child.
Davy Ray Kinley, 24, and Sarah Belle Burch, 23, were arrested Friday after deputies responded to a home on Twin Lakes Drive after a probation officer called for help.
According to deputies, oxycodone and hydrocodone pills were found lying unsecured in a bottle at the end of a table. The press release states that the couple’s 2-year-old could have easily gotten to them.
Kinley and Burch are charged with misdemeanor child abuse for allowing illegal drug use to take place in their home around their child.
Kinley is also facing charges of possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of a schedule III controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He also violated the terms of his probation.
Kinley was jailed under a $7,000 secured bond, while Burch received a $1,000 secured bond. Officers could not say Tuesday evening if the child is in the custody of the Department of Social Services or with a family member.
