Drowning deemed accidental
The drowning of a Denton man over the weekend has been deemed accidental according to the Davidson County Sheriff’s office.
Deputies announced Monday that the body of Tim Strickland, 36, will be sent to the medical examiners office for an autopsy.
On Saturday, deputies were called after a body was discovered in a creek, behind the 2700 block of Regan Road, in the Silver Valley community.
Deputies determined that the body was Strickland who had been reported missing by his family Thursday. According to a press release, Strickland’s family said he had been missing since March 16.
Deputies said that they had interviewed a number of people concerning Strickland’s disappearance and that he often stayed at a home near the creek where he was discovered. The investigation is ongoing.
