Belk sets date of relocated store opening
Belk this afternoon set the date for the opening of its relocated High Point department store.
Belk’s new $7 million department store at The Palladium at Deep River Shopping Center in north High Point is set to open on March 12.
Belk at The Palladium, located along Wendover Avenue near the intersection with Samet Drive, will relocate from Oak Hollow Mall, where the store has operated since 1995. Belk has served High Point since opening its first downtown store in 1920. Its store at Oak Hollow Mall, which opened in 1995, will be relocated to The Palladium and will close just prior to the new store’s March 12 grand opening.
“We’re pleased to be opening a brand new store in High Point. Belk has operated here for 93 years and we are creating a modern new shopping experience for our loyal customers that is all about fashion, quality, convenience, merchandise selection and superior service,” said Bill Roberts, chairman of the Belk Northern Division based in Raleigh.
The 75,000-square-foot building will include a ladies shoe department that will be among the largest in the area, with more than 6,500 square feet of space offering extensive selections of top name shoe brands and styles, according to Belk.
