The new Belk store, located in the Palladium at Deep River shopping center, has been open to the public for a couple weeks but will celebrate its grand opening Wednesday.

With expanded brands to fill the new 75,000-square-foot building, shoppers will be able to find old favorites and new, popular products.
The new store has all the departments the Oak Hollow store had with an expanded handbag collection and ladies shoe department which is now among the largest in the area with more than 6,500 square feet.
Belk has been in High Point since it opened its first store downtown in 1920.
The new store has contemporary decor and diverse fitting rooms that cater to the each section. Children’s fitting rooms are colorful and gender-specific. Men’s fitting rooms are masculine. Women’s dressing room is equipped with phone charger stations in the waiting area for the impatient man or to receive coupons for the store.
Laura Danclovic, store manager of Belk at Palladium, said that the move from Oak Hollow Mall had to be made quickly.
“We closed the (Oak Hollow) store on Feb. 15 and had our first soft opening here on Feb. 28,” Danclovic said. “It was a lot of work quickly but we felt it was a service we needed to give our customers. We wanted to get this store open as fast as possible so our customers could get back in their Belk store.”
The store will host its grand opening on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. with a ribbon cutting, a presentation of a $5,000 grant from Belk to High Point University to award two first-generation scholarships to public high school students from High Point for one year’s tuition, fees and books.
Belk will also give away Belk gift cards ranging in value from $5 to $500 to the first 300 customers at the store on Wednesday.
