Junior League's annual poinsettia sale ends this week
This week marks the deadline for ordering holiday poinsettias from the Junior League of High Point, as orders must be placed by Wednesday.
Proceeds from the organization’s annual sale will go toward community service projects sponsored by the Junior League.
“The poinsettias are ideal for holiday decorating at your home or office, as well as for gift-giving to your family, friends and colleagues,” said Erin Miller, co-chairwoman of the sale.
“Proceeds from the seventh annual sale will benefit our community-based projects, while supporting our mission of promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.”
The potted red or white poinsettias come in three sizes — six, eight or 10 blooms — and are designed by the floral supplier for Walt Disney World parks. Prices are $10 for a small plant, $19 for a medium and $25 for a large.
To order, you may call the Junior League office at 889-5479, order online at www.jlhp.org, fax a completed order form to 889-8508, or scan and email a completed order form to firstname.lastname@example.org. Order forms may be found online at www.jlhp.org on the “Poinsettia Sale” link, located on the “Documents” page.
Ordered poinsettias will be available for customer pick-up at Dali Distributing Co., 1670 English Road, on Dec. 6 and 7. Free delivery will be provided for all orders over $250.
This fundraiser will help the Junior League fund its second year of alliance with Communities in Schools. The organization has partnered with the second grade at Parkview Elementary, participating in volunteer opportunities to help the school reach its goals of improving reading and math proficiency and decreasing the number of school suspensions.
The Junior League will also continue its annual Kids in the Kitchen program, which teaches children about nutrition, good hygiene and obesity.
