Carolina Regional Heart Center named to Top 100
High Point Regional Health System’s Carolina Regional Heart Center was recently named to Becker’s Hospital Review Top 100 Cardiac Hospitals for 2013.
The Becker’s editorial team selected Carolina Regional Heart Center based on recognition for quality care, clinical awards and research contributions to cardiovascular care. Hospitals listed in the Top 100 have received recognition as outstanding providers of cardiovascular services by U.S. News & World Report, Truven Health Analytics, Blue Cross Blue Shield, the American College of Cardiology Foundation and the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
“We are pleased to receive another national recognition acknowledging the hard work and commitment of our cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons and staff,” said Dr. Zan Tyson of the heart center. “We would also like to thank High Point Regional’s nursing, electrophysiology and catheterization laboratory staff, as well as our emergency department physician partners and local EMS, who helped achieve this milestone.”
Carolina Regional Heart Center, a partnership between High Point Regional and Carolina Cardiology Cornerstone, earned the American College of Cardiology Foundation’s Platinum Performance Achievement Award in 2013, recognizing the hospital’s high standard of care for heart attack patients. It is also a Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Distinction Center for cardiac care and a two-time recipient of the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline award.
“We are so thankful for the terrific staff in the Carolina Regional Heart Center and for our partners in Carolina Cardiology Cornerstone,” said Dr. Greg Taylor, senior vice president and chief operating officer for High Point Regional. “The Becker’s Top 100 Cardiac Hospital acknowledgement is yet another validation of the great program that exists at Carolina Regional Heart Center.”
Opened in January 2001, the 132,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art heart center is an outpatient facility that is dedicated primarily to providing the full spectrum of outpatient cardiac services.
“The Becker’s Top 100 is the second national award validating the hard work that the partners at Carolina Cardiology Cornerstone have put into the heart program at High Point Regional over the last 20 years,” said Tyson. “This demonstrates all the good things that can happen when you have such a dedicated team like the staff of Carolina Regional Heart Center.”
The mission of Carolina Regional Heart Center is to provide the residents of the Triad with a full range of high-quality, easily accessible, cost-effective and integrated cardiovascular care in an environment that respects the dignity and privacy of patients and families.
