STORYTELLER SATURDAYS at the Park series begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at a new city park at 738 Washington St. Willa Brigham tells stories this week. She is the two-time Emmy Award-winning host of the TV show, “Smart Start Kids,” an inspirational speaker, writer and performing artist. A native of Tuskegee, Ala., she is a graduate of Alabama state University and Indiana University, with bachelor and master’s degrees in health and physical education. Free

In concert

THE ARTS SPLASH series of outdoor summer concerts sponsored by High Point Area Arts Council opens 6-7:30 p.m. Sunday with a performance by EnVision (rhythm and blues/Motown) at High Point City Lake Park, 602 W. Main St., Jamestown. Arts Partner, which will provide information on its community services, is Theatre Arts Gallery. Admission is free. Concertgoers may bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnics. No alcoholic beverages are permitted. If there is a threat of rain, call 889-2787 after 4 p.m. Sunday to get the latest update on the event.

For kids
Public Library, 10433 S. Main St., sponsors the following free programs for children:
• Storytime for ages 18 months and older — 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. today;
• Crafts for school-age children — 2:30 p.m. today.

JAMESTOWN Public Library, 200 W. Main St., sponsors the following summer reading and enrichment programs:
• Ooey gooey worms and composting, for pre-school-grade five— 10-11 a.m. today;
• Ear bud wraps, Hangman, for middle school students — 1-2 p.m. Tuesday.
