Wenner, Ragsdale soar in state 3A track | Ragsdale high jumper Amy Wenner traded high fives with some of her competition as they gathered for medal ceremonies in the infield of N.C. A&T's Irwin Belk Track on Friday.
Wenner possessed every right to be happy after tying for second, which ultimately was matched by the 800-meter relay team as the best event showing for the Tiger girls as they finished fifth in the final team standings at the NCHSAA 3A meet.

| Wet weather puts Wesleyan's title quest on hold | David Anderson has spent most of his freshman year playing for Wesleyan Christian Academy's JV team and watching the action during varsity games.
As the season progressed, coach Scott Davis started plugging Anderson into the varsity lineup with greater frequency. The move paid huge dividends Friday in the semifinals of the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 3A championship when Anderson smacked two home runs to help Wesleyan beat Charlotte Country Day 7-3 at Cary Academy.
