The old Oak Hill School was built around 1879 near what is now the intersection of Burton Avenue and English Road. In 1910, the school was rolled about one block down Burton Avenue to make way for a more modern building.


Friends for a century: Oak Hill celebrates 100th anniversary
HIGH POINT – The congregation of Oak Hill Friends Meeting will celebrate its 100th anniversary together Sunday.

The meeting kicked off a one-year celebration Oct. 14, 2007, but will mark a full century as an official congregation at the meeting's 10:40 a.m. Sunday worship service.
